My pet’s veterinarian recommended this product to decrease the bacteria in their mouths and promote oral health. I bought the first bottle at the vet, was much more expensive than the price available on Amazon. This is a great deal. The dogs drink the water without any hesitation. Start off with half the recommended amount of the product then increase to desired amount slowly. The slow, progressive increase will give the pets a chance to adjust to any changes in taste of the water.

First I will say that my dog does not have stinky breath we have been using this since he was a puppy. But when he goes to a sitters house when we are on vacation, he develops smelly breath after about a week of not using it.I have never tasted it so I gave it a 3 star or neutral rating.it is definitely worth the price as you use cap fulls to measure for your gallon of water.But you do need a separate gallon jug for the water to keep in your fridge.we have received compliments of how our dog has nice teeth and breath.We also use Clenz-a-dent ProvDen PlaqueOff Oral Health Flakes in his food, also highly recommended.Both were recommended to us by our vet.

This product was recommended by my vet to improve the breath and dental health of my dog. Just add it to water each day and it does help!

This product sort of falls within the catagory of "too good to be true", but I fell for it. Time will tell. I will possibly update this report after the jury is in. My 3 Chihuahuas don't seem to display any aversion to the water with the product added. I gave it an entirely (yet) unearned three stars..Update, 10-13-08 A NEW issue: The posts relating to the xylitol in this product REALLY concern me. Quick research seems to bear out the warning posted by others. The product hasn't adversly affected my pets, but I'm still not convinced of the legitimacy of its intended use. My dogs are remarkably free of tartar build-up, but that could also be the result of EXCLUSIVE dry dog food ONLY. No table scraps...etc. A big "Con": This product DOES promote mildew or some kind of black yuck at the edge of the water in the watering dish! It's relatively expensive, difficult to accurately determine its benefits, and might be potentially dangerous.The xylitol makes the product very sweet, so the water is made even more palatable to the dogs. So, unfortunately, is ethylene glycol (antifreeze). Connection? I don't think so. Just an observation..I re-rate this product no (as in zero) stars. I will order no more.

No scent, no flavor. My dog is prone to tarter but I think this may deter the cleanings a bit longer. This was Vet recommended so I will continue until they tell me different.

My vet highly recommended this. We bought a bottle from the vet, but since then we have purchased from Amazon. We use it for both our dog and cats. Great price, larger size than what our vet sells.
