iRobot Roomba Authentic Replacement Parts - Dual Mode Virtual Wall Barrier Compatible with Roomba 600 700 800 900 Series

This is identical to the one which came with the vacuum and arrived on time. It works as expected, uses small batteries, though once in awhile the vacuum plows right thru the barrier. Same with the old one. The barrier isn’t 100% effective. No problem. Nothing in this world is perfect. Parts of my floor on rare occasion get vacuumed twice. I expect this one to last for as long as we own the vacuum. I suspect it will, being an OEM part. On a wood floor the beam will reliably block out to 13’. Less on carpet. With the two barriers facing each other, 20’ is easy to block off on carpet. With two of these now, I don’t have to lay down big books etc. to block a second area. Nice. These are expensive but worth it if needed.

I ordered to go with my new iRobot Roomba 891 as no virtual walls came with my model. To my amazement, these were two towers for the price of one that I would have paid had I gone with irobot! Theses towers are slim and fit into small areas and barely visible! To my delight, they also work with my Roomba 770 model! This gives me two Roombas and 4 virtual wall towers to clean my floors in separate portions of my home. I highly recommend these products! I also highly recommend Irobot's Roomba models.....but you don't have to pay a fortune to enjoy the benefits of having your floors kept clean! Shop wisely a dwatch for sells! I chose theses two models, Roomba 770 and 891 because of the filtering systems, I have severe asthma and allergies and these pick up even the finest particles......like pollen, baby powder or baking soda!

Although we have our on and off again issues with our Roombas overall, I will admit these virtual walls are a significant improvement over the previous models. They are more compact and easy to place anywhere. And where the previous model failed about half the time and allow the Roomba to go right through the barrier, these have yet to fail on us. We have 4 of these in use, 3 as walls and 1 as an area barrier, and all 4 work well. Battery life is also improved and we easily go months before we have to replace the batteries.My only issue is I wish there was a better indicator these are on and working. There is no indicator light like the previous model had - the top glows when you turn them on but once one on there is only a faint flow sometimes and except in our very dark basement I can't tell if they are on or not. So I would like to see better indicators in the next model.

It works just like my original that I got with my Roomba. $15 cheaper than the extra one I had purchased directly from iRobot and free shipping on top of that!

The barrier works fine and has no weaknesses that I noticed. Very easy to use. Price on Amazon was excellent. I don't have any data on how long the battery will last, but I assume it will be acceptable as long as it is turned-off when not in use, therefore rated battery life as 4 Stars. My iRobot came with one barrier, so I purchased this as my second one. I recommend having a second barrier for better control of an area to be vacuumed...no need to block-off area that you don't want vacuumed with furniture, etc. Tip: If don't have an iRobot, I suggest purchasing one that includes two barriers.

My Roomba e5 did not come with virtual walls because I purchased it from Sam’s Club, which saved us $100. As a result, I purchased virtual walls from Amazon and saved $30. It’s just being smart with money because it quickly adds up. Anyway, this is advertised to be compatible with Roomba 500/600/700/800/900, but I can personally attest that this works with the e5 Roomba too.These virtual walls are super-small and hardly noticeable. They run on two AAA batteries per unit. They have two settings. The first setting projects a 10’ IR beam in a straight light line. This is good for doorways. The second setting produces a 4’ circular IR beam around the unit. This can be useful if you have pets. If you do not want the Roomba running into your pets food and water bowls; simply put the virtual wall into the second setting that produces a round IR beam and place it in between both bowls and the Roomba will not come near bowls.If you have a Roomba you need virtual walls, even if you think you don't need them, you do. You will find a use for them. Sure you can build you own virtual walls for about $8 in parts, but you also need to be technically included to perform basic PCB work and have a tool that costs about $55 to code the software you write to two chips – not a big deal, but for a one time use, it doesn’t make sense. If you don't understand this, don't worry. All you need to know is that these virtual walls are a good deal at this price. If you don't believe me, just look at the Roomba website. You’ll be back to purchase them from Amazon like me.

This little thing does exactly what it is suppose to do. My Roomba aka “Betty” just turns around and goes the other way when this little guy is turned on!A little pricey but works well!

Description is unclear as to what models it doesn't work with. Took calls to iRobot to confirm that it does not work with the model bought from Amazon. Returned to Amazon without a problem.You'll need to find another way to protect your cat's food bowl
