Extremely disappointed in the damaged packaging and defective product.
Extremely disappointed that the package was damaged and as a result damaged. I tried to use the product but I could not get the bottle stop leaking from the seal and tightly screwed on lid . It was extremely difficult to drink water from the bottle. I tried squeezing the bottle and tried to drink from the built in straw and became very frustrated because little to no water would come out of it. I would like a replacement bottle as soon as possible, as I have health condition that requires me to drink more than the recommended allowance of water. Please keep me updated on the progress of the arrival date. Thank you Sherry

Clean water everywhere you go
There are a few downsides... it leaks if you tip it, it doesn't hold a ton of water since the filter takes up room, and you do have to suck hard or squeeze the bottle a little since it has to make its way through the filter. But I used this for months while AirBnB hopping and it was great to have something so small to pack, and not have to buy bottled water or worry about the quality of the water wherever I went. Berkey filters are so much better than everything out there that I'll live with the few downside to get consistently great tasting quality water wherever I go. If you don't mind a little effort, you can squeeze it a dozen times and aim it into a cup to make coffee or tea.

Poor quality and hard to get water out.
Was expecting a high quality product from Berkey. Instead I got a cheap plastic water bottle with a high cost filter, neither of which worked. The bottle leaks from the lid seal. Could tell right away just by looking at it that is poor quality. The seal is placed on the bottle at the bottom of the threads. The lids does not tighten down far enough to engage the seal. Instead it relies on sealing between the lid and the top of the bottle. A seal should have been designed into the lid instead. Then, trying to suck water through the straw and filter is next to impossible. Have to suck too hard and only get a little water. Part of the issue is the lid cap does not open far enough to allow the straw to fully unfold. I popped the cap off so the straw could extend all of the way, but that only made it a little better. Note worth the money.

I've Been Buying These For Ten Years!
The first time I bought a Berkey Sport Water bottle, I bought 4 of them, for my husband, myself, and our two kids to take to Spain for my daughters wedding. We all drink filtered water, and who wants to have to buy, and carry water water, or worry about even finding it in another country? Any sink, or fountain, or even lake! is a filtered water source when you own a Berkey. It makes life so much easier, and the water tastes amazing. Once our trip was over, we just used it here at home instead of buying bottled water. Much better for our environment, first of all, and very convenient for all the things we like to do outside as well, especially hiking, camping, and kayaking. If I run out of water while I'm kayaking, I can just dip into the lake with my Berkey.....Presto!! Fresh, clean, water! Also, for you outdoor enthusiasts, did you know that most of the portable water filter systems do NOT filter out pharmaceuticals? Nope, not even the most popular, Sawyer Squeeze. So I feel really lucky to have found Berkey, and I've turned so many people on to them. If you're considering this purchase, you won't be sorry... P.S. I have a wedding day picture of my daughter getting ready to be married in Spain, and there's a Berkey Sports bottle in the foreground. I should probably contact the company with that picture. :)

Great All-Purpose Filtration System
This is a great portable water filtration system. Uses the same filtration as larger Berkey filters, just a smaller capacity. Unlike some competitors, this filter will remove (most) viruses, bacteria, protozoa, harmful chemicals and heavy metals - in one unit. Some other filtration systems may remove bacteria, but not viruses, or some chemicals, but not heavy metals. This unit does it all. The other advantage of this design is that you can squeeze water through the straw - allowing you to provide clean water to pets, or fill up your teacup with pure water, unlike systems that require you to just drink through the straw. Suction through the straw requires little effort, and is similar to comparable self-contained filter bottles. It's relatively compact, to fit in a backpack or cup holder, and - in my two purchased units - absolutely does not leak when inverted, and will not shatter if dropped. The filter is easily replaceable and is sufficient for several gallons of filtered water, depending on the source. The design covers the straw from dust and external contamination when not in use, and allows easy transportation with a carry ring suitable for a carabiner or lanyard. What's not to like? Well, nothing is perfect (although this system still merits five stars because of its universal utility). The construction is almost semi-disposable - lightweight (which is also a plus) - but maybe a little too lightweight, almost like a trade show giveaway. Longevity remains to be seen, but it doesn't feel particularly heavy duty. The drinking arrangement works, and again water can be squeezed into a cup, but he closure is essentially just pinching the straw to prevent water coming out (which it doesn't in my units, so it works), but looks like it might loosen over time. But taking it for what it is, you can be confident taking your bottle to the Amazon River Basin (or anywhere else on the planet) and having clean, contaminant-free, good tasting water to drink, from virtually any source. It's relatively inexpensive, comparable to similar products that don't do as much, lightweight, easily transported when full, and good for multiple uses. To be fair, and for me, if it's good for a half-dozen or so trips into the wild and prevents a major water-borne disease or infection, or poisoning with toxic chemicals, it's worth the price of admission to just replace it when needed. Highly recommended.

OUTSTANDING - have used worldwide for many years
Broke the ring on top from extremely well traveled years-old bottle. This is a replacement. They used to give these out to Peace Corps volunteers, it was the go-to for filtered water - no mattered how polluted, worldwide. Have replaced the filter before long overseas trips. Old, still usable bottle with broken ring top, has been around the world literally half a dozen times (it will get donated 'cause broken ring top can catch on things when traveling).

Clean water but design needs an update
I love Berkey overall, but these sports bottles (now purchased 4 for my family) tend to be hard to seal so they donโt leak and one of them was pinching the silicone straw when the top closes in such a way that is has cut a hole in it. The way the top closes over the straw can sometimes make the straw get stuck down and not pop up as desired. On the whole they work and supply the filtered water easily but the bottle design needs reworking.

Fantastic for hurricanes
These were great to use after hurricane Melissa. We only have water in our holding take & when it rained. Thiscwent on for about 2 weeks. These bottles were of great use.

Great filter, terrible bottle
The filter is great, the water has an amazing taste. Still, the design of the bottle, especially the seal of the lid is awful. Out of 3 bottles, which are pretty expensive, only for one of the bottles the lid fits decently and only a little quantity of water gets out when the bottle is squeezed. It's really a shame, since I paid over $200 to have each of my family members covered for our trip, to end up using only one bottle, and not the easiest way to squeeze and cope with the extra water leaking... For the price I paid, I expected a better design/quality of the bottle. Looking for other options of portable water filters... Whoever wants to try this product I suggest to buy only one, try it out and see if it meets your expectations quality/price range. Thanks.

I love it!
I use it at work, to filter tap water! It's the best option, I don't have to carry the water from home. I really recommend it and I will buy it again and again!
