Usborne Publishing Ltd See Inside Where Food Comes From

Now I finally understand! - its not just the supermarket that gets me my food
We have around 15 of these Usborne Flap books now, and we've kept buying them as our kids aged 5 and 7 really enjoy them. The books are very educational, sometimes funny and do trigger the kid's curiosity. So several of them have been read over and over again. This book is great because it essentially spans a range of topics related to food production, so the book takes you to farms, factories and shops. The only 2 small drawbacks are i.) the flaps can some folded or torn with frequent use by children's fingers, so this make the books less suitable for schools or nurseries. ii.) these hard cover books are quite bulky so our collection not takes up a large part of the book shelf.

This is a basis for our science lessons at home and keeps the kids interested. We start off a lesson by letting them kids choose what they want to learn about and then expand upon it, either by using this book and the knowledge we already possess, and then finding out more on the Internet for the older ones.
