The Box-Car Children: The Original 1924 Edition

I bought the paperback version for my 7 years old daughter (class requirement). However, the print is so small that she finds it a bit overwhelming to read - I can't blame her. At the same time, the story itself is well written and worth the time.

It is a very good book and a hardcover edition is nice.

Good nastalgic read.

This review is for the hardcover edition by Dover Publications. I added pictures so people could see the size of the book and text.There are only four pictures in the whole book, in black and white. They are attributed to Dorothy Lake Gregory, but I wouldn't consider the book to be illustrated to be honest.And the book is different in small but obvious ways from the mass produced version many are familiar with, notably the death of a drunk father in the beginning. There's a broader vocabulary as well, and changes quite a few scenes. But the essence of the story is the same!
