BOOMCORapid Madness Blaster (Discontinued by manufacturer)

While I'll admit to having waited WAY too long to try this blaster, I have to say that had I paid original retail for the Rapid Madness I would still be pleased with my purchase. Mattel has a great product in the BOOMco. line, which is unfortunately competing against a well-established and very influential longtime frontrunner (no, not Buzz Bee!). Foam blaster politics aside, the Rapid Madness is a large, intimidating blaster with solid construction and a reasonably comfortable design. This blaster comes with an included flip-up Smart Stick shield, a Smart Stick target, a 20-round clip, and 30 Smart Stick darts. The extra darts are a great gesture from Mattel, as they all know how easily these things get lost and providing a few spares is a welcome change from Hasbro's somewhat stingy practices (I love you Hasbro, but you know it's true). The Rapid Madness itself is trigger operated and air-pressure powered, requiring about 17 pumps (yes, really) for full charge. The clip loads in from the left side, which is admittedly not as friendly to left-handed users but not a deal breaker. Once fully primed and loaded, however, the Rapid Madness shines as a truly exciting and fun blaster, as it is able to dump its large 20 round capacity in less than 3 seconds. This blaster simply STREAMS darts, and it has decent power and range to boot. Perhaps the only troublesome element of the Rapid Madness is dart conservation, but honestly this thing is so fun to use I would call that a moot point. My biggest recommendation for this blaster is to pick up a refill pack or two ( BOOMco. Clip and 20 Dart Pack ) and just enjoy the fun of letting 20 darts rip! The only major downsides to the Rapid Madness are the awful, complicated and wasteful packaging and the somewhat troublesome Smart Stick technology, but the latter is a subject for another review. Fires so FAST!!! Unleash a devastating hail of bullets on your foes, just make sure you have the 40 clip with a few back ups and are near cover to pump it up again and again. Make sure you have a good back up pistol too. No jams as long as you pack the darts in properly. Also make sure you practice loading and unloading the clip as it can go too far. If it does just push it through all the way and try again. DO NOT try to pull it out, PUSH IT THROUGH. This gun when properly used is like having a modded NERF gun. save your time and money, buy this gun and get 2 or 3 40 round clips and 100 extra bullets and commence putting the fear into the other teams heart as you shoot faster and more accurately than they could ever hope too without an expensively modded Nerf gun! The bullets are NOT NERF compatible and the gun is not NERF compatible so don't send me questions asking if they are. The bullets are like a plastic shell with a soft tip, they are slightly smaller in diameter, and because of this they fly more accurately. you could try putting small washer inside each bullet to add weight and see if that makes them carry a little more, or just cause your friends a little more pain? Also there is a screw in the back you should just remove, it lets the bladder fill up more so you can shoot more rounds before you run out of compressed air. You will have to pump it up more though. The gun comes with a pressure release valve so you can't break it by over filling it. I guess you could open it up and put rubber bands on the bladder to increase the psi of pressure when the bladder is full and maybe it will shoot the bullets farther or remove the pressure relief valve to mod it. I haven't felt the need, but let me know if any of you try it and how that works out. Apparently some of the guns are lemons (I read or saw it on a review) Amazon guarantees your purchases, so don't sweat it and the seller I bought it from seems good. Buy one and you will have a great time seeing the shock and awe on your friends/kids/other teams faces as you shoot 30 rounds out of your clip in 3 seconds (that's 600 rounds per minute or 10 per second #%@*!!! Your range is shorter 64 feet give or take, but the rate of fire is devastating! I covered everything I know at this point so don't ask me any questions or I will respond with bizarre, belittling and sarcastic remarks. Be warned...JK! have fun!

Had my doubts but I'm impressed. Rate of fire is awesome. Only improvements I would like to see is a bigger air tank because it'll make it through a full 20 round clip but the rate of fire drops drastically half way through. I did find that after it gasses out, you can keep the trigger down and keep pumping so it fires off a round with every pump.

Ordered these for my husband and he absolutely loves these guns and is having a blast playing with the neighbor children or by himself. Darts are great because they don't stick to anything but the target provided. They are also safe for our son to chew on as the tips don't come off. Had to contact the seller because I ordered 2 guns but only 1 initially arrived and there was no tracking info for second gun. Seller replied quickly & second gun showed up 2 days later.

These are fun. Every adult that has seen them at my house needs to try them. And each one laughs and giggles when they see how it works. You need to buy two so you can battle!They don't shoot hard enough to be worried about injury, in my opinion. The boom co pistols shoot more fiercely.Fun!!! My kids love them, we've had them over a year and they still get used a lot.
