I have owned similar products over the years however the quality, pole extension features, and the top and bottom pads are attached thus no need to search for one or the other. I would recommend this product to a friend.

I needed these to hang some wall cabinets and they make it a one man job. They were sturdy and easy to use. The wide feet but narrow pole even worked well hanging a cabinet over the toilet next to the shower in a tight spot. One issue though, the top pad fits nicely on the end of the pole but the bottom pads do not. It was a lot of work to get them to fit, and even though the cabinet was sturdy on them it does not instill confidence. I do recommend them. The metal poles are solid. But they need to redesign the feet to fit properly on the poles.

Assembly was a snap minus a little difficult to get the bottom plate on. Just flexed it a bit and with a little effort it went together and works great.

I originally purchased the Work Support to serve as a third hand while a repaired a wooden stair leading to a deck. It supported the stairs while I made the repairs and adjustments. When I finished this project I placed the support out of the way underneath an extension platform for my table router in a cramped workshop. The weight of this homemade platform caused it to sag about 0.02" with respect to the top surface of the router table. In a flash of inspiration I used the Work Support to raise the extension platform into alignment with the router table surface. I found that gently squeezing the adjusting lever by a very small amount gave me the necessary fine height adjustment. Now I can use the router table extension for its intended purpose.My only quibble with the Work Support is the short release lever which must be pushed upward to lower the Support. A slightly longer (~1/2") lever would make it easier to lower the Work Support.

Overall these lifts are pretty good. The issue is getting them down after you have something heavy on them. If you are hanging something that doesn't have to be lowered, such as cabinets, they are ideal. We used them for a heavy countertop and it was a little tricky lowering it down. A slow release would make this produce perfect. You do need to purchase a few because they are not designed for heavy material, but when used in tandem they can get under something heavy and lift it. We bought 5 and did fine. We did not encounter any defects as some other reviews have stated, but once the lift starts to click you don't want to push them any further. Add a second lift rather than overextend them. They can handle about 100-150 lbs, but I would lean towards less and make sure you have the caps on tight and that the weight is seated squarely in the middle during a lift.

I had to install cabinets and wanted to do it by myself. Help is nice but I knew most of this was going to be done during random times when I have a spare 30 minutes to get a box on the wall. Once you mark your line on the wall and install a ledger board this tool holds up the other end. I got all my cabinets installed and square without another person having to come help me out. This was easy to use and easy to get to the correct height. I'd recommend it in a heartbeat.

This works very well as an adjustable 'lifter and holder'. It has non-marring, non-slip pads that snap on to each end, and remove for easy storage. The main body of this, also is adjustable for length (within a certain range - check the specs, the size range varies depending on which one you get). It is rated to lift/hold 150 pounds, and I think it will easily do all of that. Squeezing the handle causes the tool to stretch, lifting/spreading whatever you have the pads between. There is a release lever, to relieve pressure, or to collapse it back down Great for lifting cabinets into place, or putting steady pressure on something while glue sets, or wherever you want a more or less infinately adjustable holder/spreader. The only reason I only gave it 4 stars, is because at first it wouldn't ratchet properly, but after several uses, things seemed to loosen up, and it now works as it should.

Love these 3rd hands. FastCap is top quality and I recommend this purchase.
