This is a perfect pith helmet. I always wear a hat in the sun and this blocks the sun and lets air through the head part. Exactly what I wanted.

This is a very sturdy, well-constructed helmet. For an explorer costume it's perfect but is a terrific garden or hot weather hat. Adjustable and fits a man's head as well as smaller sizes. Very pleased.

Keeps my noggin safe

Love this for gardening! It looks dorky but keeps the body cool by facilitating the loss of heat from your head while still protecting it from the sun. I just wish the cloth around the head band were removable to be washed. Once that cloth band degrades, there's no choice but to discard the entire helmet.

I bought this one for my friend who likes to wear Pith hats on hot sunny days and choose this one because it stated it had an adjustable headband inside which is a plus. The only bad thing about this purchase was the hat was not shipped in a box, it was sent in a thin plastic bag which allowed it to get smashed in a couple places. My friend said he was able to pop the dents out of the mesh, but a box would be better with an item like this.
