Omnigrid 5-1/2-Inch by 5-1/2-Inch Non-Slip Quilter's Ruler

I still had to add the little things on the back to make it not slip. I wish this was easier to read maybe another color would help me but all in all I'm pretty happy!

Great ruler. The hole used for hanging gets in the way at times. Wished it wasn't there.

I love this ruler! I've been a quilter for almost twenty years now and have always used a 3"x18" ruler that tends to slip a lot. Finally bought this and I wonder why I never did it sooner. This makes my life so much easier. It doesn't slip and it's so easy to hold onto.

I already had a couple smaller Omnigrid rulers, as well as one Omnigrip, and I really liked the multiple markings. I have another brand for my 6.5x24 inch ruler, but it has fewer markings, and does not have any grip. I added some silicone rubber grips and a big suction cup handle to my previous ruler, which helped, but I still prefer this Omnigrip ruler. I use my 6.5x24 inch ruler a lot for larger cuts and always wish I could use the Omnigrid rulers instead since they are far better in my opinion, so I decided to remedy the situation and buy this one (8.5x24).Grip- Although this ruler does have some grip, I'm sure it's still possible that it could move depending on how you use it. I haven't had any issues with it shifting on me so far, and even with the added silicone ruler grips and handle on my older ruler, the Omnigrip still stays in place better with no added support.Markings- I love how many markings are included on this ruler. There are multiple hatch marks all the way down and across the ruler at each 1/8 inch mark, so it's easy to line up the ruler with any measurement, not just 1/2 inch or 1 inch cuts. There are also numbered markings at the top and bottom of the ruler for both 1/2 inch and 1 inch increments that go from right to left and from left to right, making it easy to measure from either side of the ruler and useful for both right handed or left handed individuals.Overall, I really love this ruler so far, and I'm so glad I bought it. I had been hesitant because I wasn't sure I really *needed* another ruler and wondered if it would really make enough difference to be worth it. And at least for me, it's definitely worth it! If I purchase any more rulers in the future, they'll definitely be Omnigrip.

Sadly, the yellow lines quite badly obscure the view of the fabric & I'm using crisp whites against dark purples! The numbers are on an even more solid background and totally obscure the view. Compaired to my Olfa rulers I feel blind (I have perfect vision)! The yellow offers a slight non-slip but Olfa have this all over theirs via a slightly white layer which is much easier to see through. I’ll not be buying other Omnigrip rulers. This was one of the only rulers I found of this size which is what I wanted for my current project.

I use this product when I am rotary cutting patchwork fabrics. I have larger/ longer rulers but this one is perfect for when I’m cutting smaller pieces of fabric or sub cutting strips into smaller units.This size of ruler is hard to come by in the UK, so I was pleased I could order it from USA. The price of it was very reasonable, free postage and packing and it arrived well before the estimated delivery date.

I love that I can make 21/2” strips of fabric yardage without really measuring.
