Worked perfectly for our Kenmore front load washer. After unplugging the washer power, removing the metal band that holds the rubber seal in place was easy to do with a screwdriver placed under the spring. Once the seal is pushed back at the switch. remove the two screws that hold the switch in place. There is a small tab on the plug on the switch that you press down while removing the plug from the switch. Depending on the plug wiring, access can be limited due to the short wire length to the plug. Install the new plug and then reattach the switch with the two screws. The rubber seal around the door opening has a lip on the washing machine that it fits over. Once this is done, try the door to make sure it opens and closes properly. The fun begins now with the installation of the metal band with the spring. They do make spring pliers just for this situation for $12 or so, but I used a large pair of snap ring pliers and was able to get the spring band back in place. I plugged the machine back in, hit the power button, selected a wash cycle, and heard the door lock like it used to. All good again. Total replacement time was about 20 minutes and it fit perfectly.

My wife broke the locking mechanism on our LD washer machine, and I thought it was only the metal latch on the door, but upon replacing that little piece, I discovered that the Lock Switch Assembly was also damaged. I searched the web for a replacement and almost had a heart attack when I saw that the cheapest one was being sold for over $120. So I dug a little more, and this result came up while searching on Amazon. I was hesitant to order it because I couldn't believe the huge price difference, where this one is literally a tiny fraction of the OEM one, so I gave it a shoot with the conviction that upon receiving it, it wouldn't fit, and if it did fit, then it wouldn't work. Boy was I wrong! Not only does it fit perfectly, but it also works perfectly. So all I can say is, do not waste a dime more for any other options and much less pay the ridiculously expensive price for the OEM replacement, this one works and fits perfectly on LG Washer machines.

Installed 5/2/26 and so far words great. It was a perfect match for my LG front loader and fit perfectly in place of the broken OEM one. Buying an OEM replacement would have been ideal but I did not want to have my washing machine out of commission for that long. If/when I have issues with this part I will update my review to reflect my experience.

BUSTED DOOR LOCK MECHANISM. DID THE DIAGNOSIS, HEARD SOME FAINT CLICKING BUT DOOR WILL NOT LATCH. FIGURED THE LATCH WAS BUSTED ACCORDING TO THE TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDELINE. FOUND THIS FOR $17 SO I WENT FOR IT. TOOK 4 DAYS TO ARRIVE. FOUND INSTRUCTION VIA YOUTUBE AND GOT IT REPLACED IN ABOUT 20 MINUTES. WORKS GREAT. FIGURED I SAVED MYSELF ABOUT $250 ON LABOR. WISH THAT IT DID NOT TAKE 4 DAYS TO ARRIVE BUT 4 DAYS WAS THE ESTIMATED DELIVERY TIME AND IT SHOWED UP ON TIME. I DID TAKE THE UNIT APART AND FOUND BURN MARKS AROUND THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTION TO THE SOLENOID. APPARENTLY THAT WAS BURNT OUT. I QUESTIONED MY EMPLOYEES (THIS UNIT IS USED IN A SALON). THEY ADMITTED THAT CODE dE2 HAS POPPED UP A FEW TIMES PRIOR AND THEY SIMPLY UNPLUG, WAIT A FEW MINUTES AND PLUG IT BACK AND IT WAS CLEARED UNTIL IT REFUSED TO LATCH UP ANYMORE. I WOULD HAVE DONE AND HAVE DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO BE THE SAME AND COULD HAVE GOTTEN THE PART IN TIME TO AVOID 4 DAYS DOWN TIME WITHOUT A MACHINE IN OUR SALON. I AM HAPPY WITH THE PRODUCT AND SELLER AND LOVED THAT THE OEM JUST POPS RIGHT IN AND WORKED AS IT SHOULD.

This solved our issue with our Lg model WM3600HWA washing machine door latch mechanism. Issue: door was locked however washer wasn't "realizing " it. Fix: my husband used needle nosed pliers to loosen spring that holds door seal in place; he removed the 2 screws for the door latch; without removing the door seal, he merely eased the seal away from latch area, removed the malfunctioning latch mechanism and replaced it with this aftermarket latch; then replaced screws and seal, spring. The whole process probably took 10 minutes. We now have a working washer. It seems too good to be true. I guess time will tell.

So, woke up one morning to do laundry and my LG washer would immediately go dE1 every time I pressed start... my 4 year old washer won't start, immediately it would say dE1 without any hesitation or trying to lock the door. I searched online and found this part might fix that problem... for the price I thought I would give it a go... SO GLAD I DID!!! took 5 mins to watch a YouTube video on how to replace the part (SO EASY, the hardest part is getting the metal tension ring back on the gasket (I used 2 ppl and a pair of scissors to open the spring, and we got it in 3 tries). THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS PART AN OVERNIGHT PRIME ITEM!!! All other local parts stores around me at M-F 8-4... like when am I supposed to get the part? This part worked great, and was still able to get all my work clothes washed before Sunday night. BUY THIS FIRST if you are getting dE1 error.
