I cant/won't spend silly money a pair of cans partly as at my age I am already unable to hear the range of frequencies I could 20 years ago. I have tried the akg 72's thinking they must be OK as they get pretty good reviews, however i found unable to reproduce enough low end for mixing and just didn't sound anywhere near the quality I was expecting. The k182s however, sound really nice by comparison and are often priced similarly to the K72s. They do cary a bit more bottom end than some would like and are not the most detailed in the mids as a highend set of cans, but if you haven't got hundreds to spend on a decent pair then I can highly recomend these. I dont use 'pods' anymore as these just sound better. They are also reasonably sensitive so my puny output from my various mp3 players are actually able to get a decent output level through the k182.

Seit Jahren bevorzuge ich als Beschaller und DJ für Veranstaltungen Kopfhörer von AKG.Privat zu Hause sind dagegen die gehobenen Vertreter von Sennheiser gefragt.Weshalb ist ganz einfach zu beantworten.Mein Sennheiser (HD 520 II) klingt brilliant, umschließt das Ohr und übt somit keinen Druck auf Selbiges aus. Er ist damit hervorragend für längeres entspanntes hören geeignet ohne Schmerzen zu verursachen. Das Anschlusskabel ist steckbar und lang genug um auch mal von A nach B zu gehen ohne den Kopfhörer gleich abnehmen zu müssen. Allerdings kostet(te) der Bruder auch `ne Stange Geld und lässt sich nur mit Extra-Koffer unfallfrei transportieren. Würde er abstürzen, ist das Gejammer groß.Doch nun zu den AKG K182Lautstärke /Klang:Der AKG ist im Vergleich zum beschriebenen Sennheiser wesentlich lauter und liefert einen kräftigeren, dafür aber knackigen Bass. Dabei ist der Klang dennoch sehr ausgewogen und stimmig.Tragekomfort:Der Tragekomfort als halboffener Kopfhörer ist wegen seines enormen Anpressdruckes auf die Ohren nur für kurzzeitigen Gebrauch geeignet. Die gepolsterten Ohrmuschel liegen gut an und vermitteln auch bei hohen Umgebungsgeräuschen wie sie auf Veranstaltungen durchaus Standard sind, jederzeit genügend Input. Ein unbeabsichtigtes Abrutschen des Hörers ist bisher dank des hohen Anpressdruckes ausgeblieben.Konnektivität:Durch seine sehr niederohmige Impendanz macht der AKG an allen mir bekannten Kopfhörerausgängen eine sehr gute Figur und treibt den Verstärker zu Höchstleistungen. Durch sein steckbares und somit austauschbares Kabel sind auch ausfälle des Kabels durch hängenbleiben oder als Stolperfalle ertragbar, zumal das anschluss-Ersatzkabel im Rahmen des Ersetzbaren bleibt und nicht allzu sehr in den Geldbeutel geht. Hier ist der AKG um Längen den teureren Sennheiser-kabeln voraus. Allerdings ist das Kabel des AKG störrisch wie eine Rolle Stacheldraht. Besonders wenn kaum Umgebungsgeräusche stören, ist eine mechanische Übertragung der Scheuergeräusche an der Kleidung absolut störend. Ein Gummiertes Kabel wie beim Sennheiser täte hier gut.Transporteigenschaften:Er lässt sich prima zusammenklappen und findet in jedem Koffer Platz. Wie man allerdings den zusammen geklappten AKG Kopfhörer wieder in den mitgelieferten Stoffbeutel bekommt, ist mir allerdings schleierhaft. Etwas größer wäre durchaus besser.Fazit:Jedem sein Gerät für seinen Zweck. Ich finde, der AKG ist Spitze, übertrifft dank nunmehr austauschbarem Kabel meinen alten AKG Studio und den AKG K518 die es seit Jahren nicht mehr zu kaufen gibt. Beide haben jahrelang besten Dienst auf diversen Veranstaltungen getan. Das werde ich auch vom Nachfolger, dem AKG K 182 erhoffen. Zugegeben, ich verwende den Kopfhörer gerade wegen seiner besseren Lautstärke, einem knackigerem Bass, seinem niedrigen Preis und seiner besseren Transportfähigkeit. Von daher kann ich mit gelegentlichen vernehmbaren Körpergeräuschen leben. Also, der AKG K 182 darf und muss mit auf Veranstaltungen. Deshalb bleibt der Sennheiser wie schon seit Jahren Heimkind.Kaufempfehlung:Absolut ! Ich kann jedem diesen Kopfhörer ruhigem Gewissens wärmstens empfehlen der ordentlich Wumms auf die Löffel haben muss und dennoch sehr gute akustische Eigenschaften braucht.Ein anderes kabel würde diesen Hörer in die nächst höhere Klasse beamen und auch seinen letzten Stern absolut verdienen.

Unless you are coming from something that sounds like a potato or simply have no other option but to buys these - don't. I would not use these even if I got them for free.

I initially tested these out by listening to some tunes on my phone and the results were disappointing. Thankfully, that had more to do with the phones capabilities. Once I plugged them into my Dj decks, which is their intended use, they came into their own. While I haven't fully broken them in yet, I can say the isolation is good and the overall sound is relatively flat. If anything, the lows and highs might be a little more distinct. But I think this might be due more to the mids being a bit damp than the highs being crisp or lows very bassy.Still, good value for money. I've grown tired of paying >$200 for headphones and if these last a year or two, I may very well re-up on another pair once these have called it quits.

Coincidentally, I received two headphones on the same day: AKG K182 (88 euros - with a discount of 58 euros) and OneOdio Pro-10 (25 euros).The famous brand absolutely lost it - this AKG model has almost everything worse, from equipment to sound. I like that the headphones are massive, but the sound really comes from them like a plastic sink - they have very pronounced deepest bass and also treble, in the middle there is a kind of suppressed mud in the bucket. The construction is massive, it can withstand harsher controls during DJing, the bass is overwhelming, which is very unusual for AKG.I will not return them, because returning DJ headphones with a massive construction and a discount of 30 euros would be a shame. But I will definitely keep OneOdio for home listening, recording and mobile. Unlike AKGs, they have a twisted cable with a normal connector (AKG's miniXLR is even worse anachronism than microUSB) and a beautiful crystal sound without a bucket. With a very solid construction for only 25 euros.
