best workout game the Wii has to offer...
I found myself in the position that I had gained almost 100 pounds since getting married almost two and a half years ago. With a baby on the way, I thought now was as good a time as any to start losing weight. I set my goals small and started with the Wii Fit but never really felt like I was getting the workout that I needed.Enter "The Biggest Loser". This game is fantastic! After the first use, I could tell that my muscles were actually working. I was sweating intensely. I said to myself, "now THIS is a workout!". Unlike WiiFit, you don't have to work hard at stupid games to unlock other workouts. All of your workouts are there already. You can create a profile and follow the plan that they set for you, or you can do like I do and just select what part of your body you want to work out, along with the intensity and the length of the workout. There are so many exercises to choose from, you will never get bored with this game. Also, if you don't have time to go into a moderate or intense workout (30 to 45 minutes), you can do a light workout and still feel like you are getting something done. It also has a bunch of extras like calorie counters and a cookbook that you can pull recipes from, but personally, I chose to use WeightWatchers and find that it works much better for someone that is "on the go".The only two gripes that I have with this game is the actual Biggest Loser aspect. You get pitted against imaginary characters and if you don't "perform" to the games likings, you get eliminated. I was eliminated after two weeks. Now I just use the workouts and not the profile. I also found that using the balance board hindered my workouts somewhat. Now I just use the remote and don't feel limited to my space, it just feels like a good workout. It is another plus though that you can either use both or just the remote.I can happily say that with the help of WeightWatchers and The Biggest Loser Wii, I have lost 38 pounds in 6 weeks! I could have never guessed in a million years that a video game would help me lose weight but I'm here to tell you it can happen! Thanks Biggest Loser!

Well rounded exercise program
I like my workouts structured - it's one less thing to worry about with a busy schedule. The Biggest Loser does a fine job of managing and varying your workout schedule with 4, 8 and 12 week program options. Keeping an equal eye on daily calorie limits, it helps me manage the two major component to a healthy lifestyle - diet and exercise. There are, however, some program quirks that you have to work around. For example, the user interface to modify your daily calories (by category, another nice feature) uses one set of controls - using the plus button, the "A" button when focused on an up/down arrow (holding the "A" button continues to change the counter), or the directional cross when focused on the calorie counter itself - while the user interface to add additional workout time uses only the "A" button on the plus/minus arrows for single digit changes - holding the "A" button doesn't continue to change the counter.Another quirk occurs on the day when you have your Challenge and weigh-in. Once you've completed those items on your daily calendar, you are locked out of making any additional changes, even to your calorie count or additional workouts. Any non-challenge day's metrics can be modified anytime.I had hoped that the trainers would have a little bit more of the personality they show on the show itself, but the majority of the workout voiceovers are Bob's even when choosing Jillian as your trainer. The comments and encouragements tend to get a little repetitive, but that's pretty typical in games of this type.Still the workouts are solid, with multiple challenging levels to progress through. It's not really like working with a personal trainer, but it's a good, guided exercise program that will keep you challenged and keep you from getting bored.
