This perfectly solves the major drawback of a pellet grill, which is the long lead time needed to do just a couple of quick burgers and dogs. When positioned on the single sidekick burner it gets CRAZY HOT CRAZY FAST- goes past the 700 degree mark and pegs the dial on the other side. It’s also very thrifty on propane use, especially if you are coming from a larger traditional gas grill. Some caveats to be aware of: 1. The cast iron grill grates have a very rough texture and are hollow on the back side. This makes them difficult to clean. 2. If you look at the grates funny they start to rust. I am experienced with cast iron, but the starter seasoning they put on is no match for the extreme temps this thing can get to. My advice would be to resist the temptation to go on max until you build up a nice layer of seasoning. 3. Don’t go any higher than medium, at least at first. I decided to go nuts and see how fast I could cook steak. I ended up ruining a lot of good meat. At high temps the rate of drippage is so fast that your flare-ups overwhelm the food and all you can taste is carbon. Practice a few times before trying any good cuts of meat. Overall, I have never had the pleasure of having such high levels of heat available to me on command. Like all powerful tools, it requires more of the operator to learn and master, but I can comfortably recommend this to anyone who wants to add on to their Woodwind pellet grill (and who already has the side burner accessory).

its a great deal . i have been a camp chef fan since 2015 . and their product line is great , it is easy to transport . lots of tailgating gatherings . and since food has gone up so much due to inflation . having this and any other combo of the camp chef series makes for great fun and eats anywhere really you please . All said and done you can't go wrong with Camp Chef products , unless you wanna them ... lol

Was Leary about a used item, but was perfect and saved me 50$. Had to replace this unit after 6 years, so I think it lived a good grill life.
