Scott Pilgrim Color Hardcover Volume 1: Precious Little Life

I love the Scott Pilgrim books, they are without a doubt my favourite stories featuring a Canadian in a leading role. Assuming that you hadn't read the original issues or have missed the Edgar Wright film version the books (or have skipped the product descriptions and came directly to the reviews - you rebel you) tell the story of Scott Pilgrim and his quest to become Ramona Flowers significant other while battling her seven evil ex's.What makes this version (and the following issues) special is the books are in hard cover and each cell has been coloured. I actually owned the books in their original paperback form but upon seeing this shiny new version I proceeded to buy the first one. And I was not disappointed, the colouring has been done well and the extra features (such as concept art, promotional comics, etc) are worth getting the books again. The colouring adds to the story without taking away from their original charm (although a joke does need a bit of explaining - its about Ramona's hair, you'll know it when you see it). You certainly don't need this version of the book to enjoy it and you'll love (or hate) the book just the same if you read the oringinal monochrome version (although if you hate these books I'm afraid we can't be friends).As I said I love this book, Bryan Lee O'Malley presentation of Toronto is Scott's world is brilliant and I loved the books the first time I read them (I go back and read them from time to time and now I can do it in full colour!). Scott is a lovable-ish character (although to be fair he is a bit of a dick every now and then) and ultimately it is good to see him develop (I wanted to say grow-up but then I remembered who I was talking about). I feel that the colour and extra content justified buying the Scott Pilgrim books as I am a big fan, if you don't have the books certainly consider buying this version but I would only re-buy them if you (like I) am a fan of the series.

This product came in impeccable packaging and condition so I was pleased from the beginning. The format of the volume is so much better than the paperbacks as it is more durable and looks great as a collection. The film follows these pretty closely so if you like the film then I recommend this to start your scott pilgrim collection. Also, the artwork is great and the whole thing is a joy to read. I can't really fault the item and for anyone who loves a quirky modern graphic novel I suggest you buy this.

Very impressed with this hardback, love the black and white charm of the original but this is even better. The color is very well done, the bonus pages are plentiful and the larger hardback format really makes it look great!If you have the original book, still get this, if you don't have the original, get this edition!

Great series, art is great, funny throughout, but you really care for the characters, best graphic novel i've ever read, one of the best books i've ever read. I love the Scott Pilgrim series but after a couple of moves my collection disappeared. When I saw they had re-released them in full colour I was very excited. The book looks great, the quality is very good and it looks so much better in colour. The bonus stuff at the end is also good.
