Worked PERFECTLY right out of the box!
Got this for a used Xbox 360 Slim Model E that I purchased recently off of Ebay, which came without a hard drive. The Xbox 360 works fine with NO hard drive, but you can't apply any Xbox updates b/c without a hard drive, there's no place for the system to store the update while it's being applied. I tried a 32GB external USB thumb drive, but it wouldn't accept it as a system storage device.In any case, this drive worked GREAT right out of the box. No formatting or anything necessary. I just slid it in the slot and it locked in position and was instantly using it to apply all outstanding updates as well as now I can store media and/or game files on it.

AWESOME
Holy crap this is awesome!I HAD A little 64 USB drive that slowed down my Xbox took about 20 minutes just to open and game. Like 30 minutes to get to the home page from start up. Now that I moved everything over to this device games start up within seconds. Xbox starts up very quickly. VERY HAPPY!!!
