CharmianWomen's Double Heavy Spiral Steel Boned Underbust Waist Cincher Corset

This corset is built really well, strong sturdy sewing and material. I wish I had bought it sooner as I have always been self conscious about my lower ribs sticking out. I have a thin build, and great abdominal muscles as I do crunches almost daily. But I had a large depression under my ribs, and no amount of exercise would fix it. In the 2 weeks I have worn this (10 - 12 hours a day) my ribs have begun moving and my abdomen is noticbly flatter as I estimate my lower rib has moved in about 3/4 of an inch. I am also almost back to my 29" waist. Great product that I wasn't sure if it would work, but it does!

Let me start out by saying that I know a thing or two about corsets, and own a good number of honest to goodness steel boned corsets, including some that were custom made to fit my figure exactly. So it should go without saying that I was not expecting this corset to live up to that standard. And it doesn't. I did, however, expect just a little bit more from it.The Pros:The corset has a busk front, which is a wonderful when getting dressed.It has a modesty panel in the back, good for covering the skin and preventing the laces from chaffing.It did pass the "magnet test" and the stays are made of some type of metal.It WILL cinch you down into an hourglass shape.The price, even with shipping from China, is very good.The Cons:It runs small. I'm pretty small myself, but ordered a size up because I like the corset to close fully in the back. I cannot close the medium fully in the back, even though I SHOULD be able to, according to the measurement chart provided. Go up at least one size, maybe even two, and be certain take your measurements, and then have someone else take them for accuracy's sake.While the stays are metal (not certain if they're actually steel) they are very, very light weight.Do not expect heavy steel boning with this corset, or to be able to corset down as small or as precisely as a better made, heavier boned corset will allow. If you're interested in the extreme wasp waisted look, pass this one up.The busk front is made from a very thin metal - These feel flimsy, and do not line up and fasten as well or with the same amount of ease as a more expensive, better made corset will.While not made horribly, this is not a corset that will last the test of time. I'll be wearing this corset under period wardrobe for 2 days straight, about once a month, sometimes twice a month - I don't expect it to last me more than 6 months to a year before it will need replacement.Overall, you get what you pay for. It's fine for occasional wear if you have realistic expectations and want minor (2-4 inch) cinching. Be certain to "season" your corset prior to wearing it for an extended period of time to avoid unnecessary discomfort. Wear the corset for 2 hours for several days, then 4 hours, leading up to a full day of wear. This helps mold the corset better to your shape, while breaking it in so it'll be more comfortable to wear for extended periods. I can't say that I'll order this corset again, but I don't hate it enough to return it. It'll do the job under my period costume until I get a better one.

I received my corset. It was white, well built, I could not wait to get it on. I ripped it from the clear plastic wrapper, it glimmered with soft satin, calling me to put it on. I squeezed into my girdle first. No point in trying to break in a corset fresh, with nothing but me. Might want to give it a little help at first. Without unlacing the corset I tried to put it on. The corset laughed, and yet again glimmered. I soon learned this siren's song was not musical but in her fancy ways. This was no glimmer of friendship, it was a challenge, as if to say 'try to get me on mere mortal. I dare you.' At this point I knew this was no ordinary amazon corset.Slowly I unlaced the corset. It hissed at me, letting me know I could move it's laces but not it's spirit. Took it to the halfway point and tried again. Nope. 'Alright corset' I thought, 'I'll make you call me mama.' I fully unlaced the corset, and although now fully widened and exposed the corset remained unmoved, unwilling to give in to my fruitless tries. We fought. I valiantly grabbed it at the bottom, pulling the hooks as close as I could to the eyes. The corset would have none of this and threw me onto my bed. After a wild tussle I fell on top of the corset, pinning it between myself and the bed. I pulled it shut, it squirmed trying to escape. Sweet victory was mine in that battle. I pulled the first hook over it's opposing eye, and locked it. Again we did battle for the second hook and eye, but it was to be mine. Upon going for the third hook and eye corset finally pulled a fast one, rolling over and unlocking the first eye. Damn you corset. In trying to fix that hook and eye I lose the second. This will not do.I yank up corset. I have finally had enough. I yank and pull, at some point I believe corset got a fast blow in and I blacked out. Thinking I was down for a bit corset let it's guard down. I slowly crept up on corset, and launched a sneak attack by saying one simple word, "boo". Shocked corset fell right back into my hands. For minutes we battled in front of the mirror, but finally victory was mine. I tired corset out, and it gave in, fully snapping from the bottom to the top. Once we got there cinching was a breeze, and now corset and I are happy together, albeit where the snaps are is no longer shiny.

This is the first corset I have ever owned that hasn't lost its shape or painfully pinch my sides. I can move around comfortably and no pain plus it also helps me keep a good posture. The metal boning is so useful

The corset was perfect, exactly quality I have come to expect from Charmian. My girlfriend and I were very puzzled, however, to find the triangle of fabric with cheap elastic included. I think it's supposed to be a thong, but the quality is below what you would expect from a dollar store, if they had a lingerie section. It's the sole reason I took a star off, because it weirds me out that my favorite corset company could make something so cheap and ugly.If you're going to include extra items, make it something worthwhile, and not garbage.

I like it. but the steel bones are busting off the seams tough (nothing a good needle work wont fix.) But I also dont know if its because I ordered a wrong size. I order an XS and the back is showing.I thought its good for the price. For the 2 weeks im wearing it I notice the fat in my love handles are transferring to my but (but irt didnt disappear completely. In the past few days im feeling constipated. I guess this really implies to start improving your eating habits. It also stops me of eating too much. The first week was really hard to adapt to the corset but now I feel more comfortable wearing it. Getting the hang of it. Going to order a latex one to work out. Im happy that I can feel comfortable wearing a dress.

Returned Item but Absolutely fabulous! Only reason I am returning is purely because I need it shorter on the body.I am already hourglass shape(UK12) so I need it shorter to pull me in where I need it to (my waist) and as it is a longer fit, my hips are in the way! :) exactly as described and VERY well made! Worth a higher price tag to be honest.

this product works great, takes inches off your waist, i would say that it is too comfortable though
