Who doesn't love musical furniture?
For someone just getting into the cajon world or someone who’s on a tight budget but wants the full-size-real-deal this is a great option. The construction is solid, the sound is exactly what you’d expect, and it’s easy to get a range of sounds from it. The panels are strong enough to hold me up and carry it around by the soundhole. It produces more than enough volume, especially once you get the technique down. There’s very little force needed to produce good volume. There’s no obvious points of cost saving seemingly anywhere here either. You get a standard birch construction, the feet are dense rubber so they’re sturdy and help isolate the cajon from any sympathetic vibrations, and it’s plenty big enough to sit and play on comfortably. I’m 5’7” and this is slightly taller than where my computer chair sits but very close to the height making it ideal for me, and there’s enough room to even decide how far forward or backward I’d like to sit. I’m not a cajon expert but from what I can tell the adjustable guitar string versions would be the easiest for me to maintain but the ones where they use snare wire don’t always run it along the entire front panel, thus providing more sound separation between “snare” and “bass” but from what I can tell that’s a more expensive feature and not worth it for someone like me who just wants a fun instrument to add to some recordings. Also I have to say the included gig bag is awesome. It’s sturdy enough that when empty and zipped up it can hold some papers, and maybe some sticks or a phone. My favorite part is that it’s also a backpack. So it’s super easy to take this with you as the cajon itself is pretty light. Granted it’s a big brick to have on your back, so I wouldn’t say you can just bring it anywhere at any time but it’s not impossible to get it to wherever you want, it just might require some forethought; like say, avoiding crowded buses when possible. In the end I found this to be a great, affordable, and competent option. I also love that it’s basically musical furniture and matches the wood I use in my office/studio. It can really brighten up a room and my day as it’s fun to just sit down and drum out a groove every now and then.

Ottimo come primo strumento
Ottimo come primo strumento...
