but for my printer head, the circuit had been damaged. so I could not get it to work.I like the principle that ensures that the head is free of clog.

One of the nozzles (yellow) of my MX920 was completely clogged. The printer beeped and showed Error B200. Don’t you just hate that? Your printer works fine for years, then the POT (Printer Obsolescence Timer) goes off? Rather than buy another ink jet printer (which we’ve had to do about every 4 years), I decided to try this cleaning kit. When it arrived I followed the directions for soaking the printhead. Because of other work I had, It soaked for 18 hours instead of the 8 hours suggested. Then I did the rest of the cleaning according to the instructions. After a few false starts and complaints from the printer about how it had been shut off before, the first test page came out very good. Not as dark as I’d wish, but that will work itself out as I print more, and probably after I put new cartridges in. So this purchase was a winner, though now I have a blue thumb. Wear rubber gloves, is what I learned.

This printer head cleaner fluid really dissolves printer ink and cleans well. The two different size syringes easily fit over the ink pads. I set the printer head on a plate to catch the results and it worked well. It says to leave the print head soak for 8 hours. After seeing how it worked I reduced that time to 8 minutes, wiped it cleaned and reinstalled the print head. It worked and print was again nice and crisp. However, about two weeks later and many sheets of paper through the printer I got this problem message that said I had the wrong print head installed. That was a surprise since nothing was changed. I took the print head out and reinstalled it and it worked fine - for about a week and then the same wrong print head message. Ok, a new print head, which the Canon MX922 would probably think was the wrong one is about the same cost as a new printer from Best Buy which matches Amazon prices. Problem solved. As for the cleaner kit it worked super and I have enough fluid left for many more cleanings. Do be careful since the cleaning fluid really dissolves the dried ink and the unprepared would have a mess. As suggested, a dinner plate under the head works fine.

This print head cleaner seemed to work well in that it did flush out old ink. But I can't actually be certain it got it all because the print head seems to be truly dead, not just dirty. I did use the entire bottle on some repeated cleanings, but to no avail. We still get the dreaded B200 error.The instructions were basically easy to follow, and the product pretty easy to use. When using the syringes, be certain the flexible silicone nozzles are firmly over the ink nozzles on the print head before pushing the plunger, or you'll waste a whole syringe-full of the cleaner. If the print head can be lifted by the syringe, the nozzles are secure. I used an aluminum pie pan to catch the ink/cleaning fluid that squirted out.

I had a little trouble getting the rubber tip to fit on the large black ink aperture of my printhead, but once I got it on, I was able to squirt water through. A couple of my colored ink apertures were clearly blocked at first, but after a couple syringes full, they were running fully with no apparent blockages. I haven't re-installed it in the printer yet because I want the water to have a chance to dry. If this product doesn't make my printer work again, it's not the fault of the product - it means that something else is wrong with the printer. Note - Internet research tells me that the inks are water soluble and a solvent isn't necessary. I will try the solvent if the printer doesn't start working, but I just don't think that's gonna make a difference. My printhead is #QY6-0086, on a Canon MX922 printer. So if you have that printhead, this product should work for you. Update - at first the print quality was not good, but after a couple of days, my printer is running good as new!
