Non-Value Add Editorialism in a Reasonable Summarization
You can find other texts with less blather from Nemeth and others. This book provides a decent reference to public documents that detail the same topics, and chronology of the development of today’s homeland security enterprise. But I found the authors’ political spin on DHS’ history from the first chapter a little distracting, which left me a bit skeptical about the remainder of the content. There are many inserts of external editorials which don’t serve a practical purpose from my perspective, and the insertion of “critical questions” seem arbitrary and disruptive to reading of the content, and could have been either removed, or incorporated in a better way from a formatting standpoint.
