Great surround speakers
Excellent speaker. Size was an issue for me so "size for power" is excellent!

Fantastic speakers, even for desktop use
I've been searching years now for a pair of speakers that I could toss on my desk to use in a stereo setup for nearfield audio. I never had much reason to do so until my old Logitech Z625 setup started to give me issues. Not sure how I ended up landing on these as the solution to fill that gap, but here we are. They're obviously meant for use in a home theater setup as surrounds, but I've also seen them sold in sets of 5 to complete a full 5.1 setup and honestly I can see that working quite well. On their own they lack any kind of lower end frequencies, but that's to be expected. They really do need a subwoofer for them to reach their full potential. Without one they're going to sound incredibly bright and slightly fatiguing, but still very detailed. Adding a sub to these really makes them shine. Filling out the lower end lets them sound more relaxed and puts less stress on the drivers. Once you're able to adjust your low pass frequency on your sub, these are able to produce very detailed stereo image that carries a far wider soundstage than I could have expected. There are several other speakers that can achieve this, of course, and I've tried several of them. These however just sound so much more clear in all media tested, from music, to gaming and to streaming. Expensive, but I think they're worth it if you can justify the price tag. I ended driving these with a Schiit Mimir (w/ Forkbeard) connected to my PC with USB, which then connects with XLR to my Aiyima A20 amplifier. The A20 drives these speakers and my sub, which is an SVS 3000 Micro R|Evolution. The Aiyima A20 is especially nice for my setup, since it allows me to utilize its built-in high pass filter so I can cleanly cut off any frequencies from being sent to my Prime Satellites and allow the sub to pick up the heavy stuff. On my sub I can also set the same low pass filter to match. So far everything has been working flawlessly, especially after taking the time to tweak the soundstage a bit with the Mimir via Forkbeard. It allowed me to soften the brightness these speakers have for what I've found is a very, very detailed and wide soundstage.

Amazing Sound for the Price
These speakers are the real deal. The build quality is solid—you can tell they put a lot of thought into the design. The cabinet is super well-made, and the grille and baffle setup help the sound come through clean and clear. The sound quality is exactly what you want—crisp highs from the aluminum dome tweeter and smooth, balanced sound overall. The crossover does a great job blending the tweeter and woofer, so there’s no weird gaps in the sound. Everything just flows, whether you’re listening to music or watching movies. What I really like is how neutral and accurate the midrange sounds. No weird resonances or muddiness, just a really honest sound that lets the music (or movie) speak for itself. If you’re looking for high-quality speakers that won’t break the bank but still deliver top-tier sound, these are a solid choice. I’m definitely happy with them!

Warm up with use
I bought these because they were rated “planar magnetic,” in a search. I had SUPERIOR experiences with planar magnetic headphones. The headphones recommended 150 HOURS of run-in time. I found them crisp, but quiet (hard to drive?) at first, but after only about 48-60 hours of run-in, they developed a warm, round, full bass response, and easily deceive the ear that the performance is by a much bigger, if hidden pair of speakers. Equalizers and “effect” settings (such as “opera Hall,” and “rock concert,” as well as plain vanilla stereo,) BOTH had far more significance with these peerless speakers than with JBL bookshelf speakers. By all means buy bigger ones for larger (than 150 watts/ 0.06% THD - could be better I know) amplifiers, but DO NOT OVERLOOK Planar Magnetic. You WON’T regret them! Worth the money!
