can you link speakers or would i need an aux or bluetooth splitter/amp?

One thing to note, I recently got a second Exos 9 and it would not link to my existing one. This is because the new one was on firmware 4.58, and the existing one on 4.53. Exos with 4.56 and above will not link to ones with firmware below that. Fortunately, updating the firmware is simple (provided you have access to a Windows computer, you cannot update the firmware from Linux or OSX). Took about 3 minutes, and it was all rainbows and unicorns after that.

Can you leave it on while plugged in and without a bluetooth connection or does it have an automatic shutoff? I hated that about the Bose Sound link

Can confirm Anthony’s answer. I do the same thing. I have two and I keep them powered on and paired to each other all the time. Then just connect from the Bluetooth menu on my phone and start playing any time.

Pairing concerns me with anyone being able to commandeer my speaker. Is this a problem for anyone?

Tim, I have not bought this speaker because of the possibility of hijacking (i.e. someone else connecting with their Bluetooth device and overriding my connection). I have corresponded with AIWA, and they say a patch is in the works. However, they did not provide an ETA for said patch. Hopefully it will be soon. Considering that your post was made on November 24, 2015, it may be a while before such a patch is released. If anyone else has this concern, please contact AIWA and let them know.
