Not for boats only
Where we live we have a low area near the house that takes on water and threatens to flood when it rains a lot (which it doesn't where we live). This needs to be fixed, but until then we have placed a receptacle there with this pump and a pipe that takes the water away from that area. It works great and doesn't get clogged by other debris. It probably would work great on a boat as well.

1500 gph
This 1500 gph triples the old 500 gph in my fishing boat. When you find yourself in need of a bilge pump, you want water moving when you flick that switch !

Impressive pump
I bought this to use as a sump pump in a remote location using a 12v battery and a solar panel. I was a little bit skeptical on wether this would do the job. I have it installed with the float switch and am very impressed with how this pump moves about 20 gallons of water in about 30 seconds with a 3/4in hose (that seems to be the cycle with the float switch I have). It does not seem to draw a lot of amperage, I have it hooked up with a 20amp fuse inline, it did not blow. I would recommend this item.

Water fountain pump!
Day one all it's good, excellent water flow, lots of power, just make sure you have a hose large enough to connect to it 1 1/8" inside diameter. Connected to solar panels with batteries, seems like it draws a lot of power to run. Not automatic, connected to a timer and a float,
