It Works well....
Lacquer-Stik Paintstick, White work well on my gun etchings. Did fills on my S&W 40c, Sig Saur P220 45 compact, and S & W MP Sport AR15. Came out pretty well despite having to get the residue from paintstick off. Used Acetone and rubbing alcohol which did not work too well. As others suggested, used a Mr Clean Magic Eraser to get residue finally off. Use some gun oil to put oil back on slides and lower AR15 receiver. Otherwise, good stuff! See how long it last? Ps. Used nail polish in the past but it did not last long.

Enhances and restores engraving
I used this to fill-in and restore the original engraved lettering on the polished Bakelite bases of some antique telegraph keys. It applied easily, enhanced the engraving with a brilliant white that looks original and the fill cured quickly and doesn't smear. Application is simple and quick and cleans up with no trouble. It's perfect and I'm very happy with it. Just an additional thought for potential users: the primary surface must be smooth and not rough. If it isn't smooth, you will get white lacquer in the rough surface around the etching or engraving and it will be difficult to clean up. I mention this because of some of the unhappy comments a few other reviewers have made.

Fill etching Ham Radio CW keys
Arrived quickly, used to fill in etched markings on WWIi era Morse Code Telegraph J38 key. Initial results look good. I have a Navy Flame Proof Morse Code Telegraph key that needs the model number etched to be filled in still - that will be a challenge.

Perfect
I got this to fix the panel on an old military multimeter, an antique TS-352A/U, made by Weston. The panel and knobs are black bakelite, and the markings are recesses in the surface. Much of the original paint had flaked out. I found an antique radio forum online, showing how to restore knob markings using a lacquer stick just like this one. You just rub it on, wipe off the excess, done. It's so easy, and the results are beautiful. Good as new.

Works great on metal
Labeled the weights on the pulley machines at the gym as the stickers have fallen off some machines.

PaintStik+ lacquer fill-in marker - Disappointment
Iโve tried to use regular white primer paint to accomplish coloring in the worn out imprint of a knob face but thinking PaintStik would be an easy, less messy and better option - it was not. PaintStik+ did not work for my application of filling in a worn imprint. It may be due to the original painted imprint not being deep enough, so be aware of this. I carefully cleaned the knob with alcohol before use. This product was easy enough to apply, very soft but easily wiped completely off, even after letting it set up a few minutes. Also note, itโs neither a โlacquerโ or โpaintโ but a semi-soft compound the โfillsโ voids by โpaintingโ in a color into a depression. I would expect that it will not harden completely (like real paint) in any situation. It may soften between your fingertips to apply or smear and likely wear away faster than an actual paint product. I didnโt have any other items to test the fill in capabilities of PaintStik+ other than the metal ruler in the photos which has laser cut etching, again the reliefs on the ruler were too shallow to hold any PaintStik+ product and easily wiped away. I wouldnโt recommend this for projects with shallow depressions or items that are expected to see heavy use as it appears to wear away under these conditions, long term durability of this product depends on item you would be filling in. I canโt think of a situation where this product would be effective other than something that wonโt be handled much. Product received and used was not the same as pictured on Amazon.com.

Best purchase made yet
Have a gun and love your receiver's markings but they are kinda hard to see. This is better than what ever crayon or nail polish you were going to use for your engraving. 1st use needs some rubbing to get the paint to start working. How to 1st clear area Rub over to give it a good layer I use mr.clean magic easier to clean up the paint along with a paper towel ( both are damp not wet or else paint will spread) Fill in again as needed if paint was removed Repeat until satisfied I found that the depth of the engraving determines how much paint is removed when I clean. Cons Breaks - my fault as I held it too hard Paint gets everywhere if your not careful ie hands then elsewhere I found that leaving the paint over night only makes it harder to clean up

This was just right for what I needed it for. Took a while to arrive (from the US) but when it did, it exceeded expectations.

I've been 3D printing dice, and these are filling in the numbers. Does a great job, and it pretty quick to do.

I bought this to re-colour the engraved lettering on my blue Casio G-Shock watch, as the original paint had started to flake off. These are very easy to use, but the material is initially rather hard, and it needs to be worked a bit to soften it. Warming it up also helps to make it less hard. Once softened, it fills the recessed lettering well. After applying, just wipe off the excess with a paper towel. My only problem with these paint sticks is that they are a little expensive for what they are. Otherwise, great! I keep mine together in a zip-bag, as this helps to prevent them drying out. Lacquer stiks are available in red, yellow, black, white, & gold.
