If you like to know how the Chines economy is functioning today this is the book for you. The author is not just explaining things about Alibaba, but all around the Chinese economy and how things are done there. There are small parts that are explaining other big Chinese IT companies that are Alibaba competition that I really liked. All is backed up by numbers. Most interesting for me was to find out a bit about the way Jack Ma thinks and makes decisions. He is a man that came from nothing in Communist China and made one of the biggest companies in the world. Definitely worth a read.

It's Jack's life written by an semi outsider whom did a great job. Enjoyed reading the book very much.

I had already listened to the Audible audiobook and decided that this is one book I want to have in print as a reference for the future. The book presents through a very engaging narrative how young Jack kept going despite all obstacles in his way up, learning a foreign language and plunging into the future created by e-commerce. His passion to be the best platforms for merchants and his ability to anticipate trends and make the best use of information technologies, without being a technolgist himself, allowed him to build an empire that has dwarfed the size and relevance of all other competitors in this arena. Alibaba is the company that will shape the future of e-commerce as we know it.
