Amazing Budget Friendly Binoculars!
Last year I had purchased a pair of Redfield Rebel 10x50 for about $135 all said and done, and for the price, I will say those are an excellent set of Bino's, and I always got compliments. This year however, I really wanted something a little lighter weight, as I spend a lot of time on my feet, so any weight I could shed on my neck/back was most welcome. I had a hard time choosing between the Leupold BX-2 Acadias and these. And owning Leupold Scopes, and range finders I was originally leaning that direction, but sadly(or not?), Hunting season was here! and Amazon was not offering Prime on the 10x42's in the BX-2, so I decided to bite the Bullet on these new 2016 Model Diamondbacks. So far I absolutely love them! They are light, but not a "cheap" feeling light. They are extremely comfortable in hand, and very sharp glass quality, surpassing my Redfields(note they are a Leupold Company now) by a small margin! One thing that really stood out in comparison to my old pair is the lighting quality, very clear and bright! especially in lower light conditions! I was beyond impressed. The carrying case it comes with is awesome, and a nice change over many other "pouch style" carrying cases form other manufacturers. Overall I am super satisfied with this set of Binoculars especially given the price tag! I really would have liked to compare the BX-2 & Diamond back side by side, however our local Cabelas was out of stock in both in the 10x42 size, so it is what it is! But I can say I strongly do recommend these! This past weekend I was out with my 2 Brother in laws & my father in law, and they were shocked how bright and clear the image was. Says enough for me! UPDATE 11/3/2016 Went in to Cabelas today now that they have both the Vortex Diamondbacks & Leupold BX2's in stock in the 10x42. Comparing side by side, glass quality was neck and neck, but I would almost favor the Diamondbacks in sheer "crisp image" factor. But honestly to close to really call, especially in store. One thing for sure I can tell you is that the 10x42 Leupold BX-2's were a substantial amount heavier, which to me is a con, also far bulkier feeling in general. The feel if the Diamondbacks in hand is far more comfortable than that of the BX-2's. All while the Diamondbacks are $30-$40 cheaper depending on current market value. Vortex get's my call on this one! Update: 5/26/2019 Recently picked up a pair of Leupold BX-4 Pro Guide HD's for a price to good to pass up. While edge to edge clarity, and low light conditions are noticeably better, the Diamondbacks are still a crazy good pair of binocular's, especially given the price tag. I was also able to use a pair of Vortex Viper HD's this past 2018 Elk season, they also were a noticeable improvement over the Diamondbacks. Overall this will likely be the last time I update this review. The Diamondback's are probably the best bang for your dollar binocular on the market plain and simple, and really aren't THAT far behind the curve compared to the $600-1000 set's. If you can't successfully spot animals in the field with the Vortex Diamondbacks, you're doing it wrong.

Buy them for kids or beginners, but dont be surprised if you end up using them too.
Bought these for my kid. Thought for the price they would do and help her want to glass longer in the field. We just got back from a hunting trip for Axis deer and she really liked this scope. When we first looked through them I was impressed. Glass was clear, easy to focus and with good binocular holder it wasn't to big for her to wear. It comes with straps but I never use them. Bino holders allow you to move freely with them not bouncing around or wearing out your neck. Anyway, good product and warranty. Daughter got 2 nice deer on 2 day hunt. Vortex binoculars helped her spot first deer in low light under trees bedded in shade over 600yds away. We had fun spotting game at long ranges too. But we knew our limits and had several good stalks which lead to a 2 deer tally for a very fun weekend. I know these worked well for her and kept her glassing much longer then lower quality binoculars would have. If glass isn't clear and field of view to small kids get bored. This Vortex 10x was powerful enough and not shaky for her to spend time viewing without eye fatigue. Buy them, they work, aren't too heavy and have decent hard case for travel and storage.

Excellent quality and value
Excellent quality and value. Tried out several binoculars at a local sporting goods retailer for comparison, all 10x42. The Nikon ProStaff 7 were comparable but slightly larger profile. Also tried out the Nikon ProStaff 3 and some Bushnell Trophy 10x42 binoculars, but the light transmission was noticeably dimmer than the ProStaff 7 and the Vortex Diamondback. Unfortunately the retailer wanted $80 more for the Vortex Diamondback lists for on Amazon right now, and that was their sale price, so I bought through Amazon. I'm very happy with this purchase. They're going to be used for an upcoming elk hunting trip. They are quite compact, and have a nice thumb detent for better grip. I'm able to keep them steadier than I was the ProStaff 7 binocs, and can easily use them with glasses on or off. The eye cups have a nice easy extension contraction feature which was also present on most of the other binoculars I tried. Also included is a decent neck strap with soft padding, a case & lens cleaning cloth, and some pretty decent and QUIET soft rubber lens covers (good for quiet observation while hunting, and attached so they don't fall off or need to be put in a pocket or pouch). They come with a lifetime damage replacement, no fault warranty which I was not expecting but by which I was pleasantly surprised. I'm probably going to be a Vortex customer for a long time.

Easy to operate and very accurate
EXCEPTIONAL BINOCULARS AT A REASONABLE PRICE. I was sold on Vortex products a few years back. My first purchase was the Vortex Ranger 1000 range finder. I have used it numerous times in the field and at the range. Easy to operate and very accurate. I can't say enough good things about it. The next purchase was the Strike Eagle rifle scope for my AR-15. Clarity and eye relief is phenomenal. Just ordered the "New" Diamondback 10x42 binoculars and am amazed at how clear the view is and light gathering capability. These binoculars are better than many costing over twice the price. Purchased the Vortex binocular harness and am very pleased at how well they hold the binoculars and are extremely comfortable. To eliminate loosing the eyepiece cover I ordered the OP/TECH USA Utility Loop Connector #1301222 and attached these to the binocular and utilized one of the strap connectors that comes with the Vortex harness to attach to the eyepiece cover. See picture. Ordered through Amazon and delivered in perfect condition in two business days. Awesome. See link below. https://www.amazon.com/Vortex-Optics-Diamondback-10x42-Binoculars/dp/B0192GJLMU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1478631502&sr=8-1&keywords=vortex+diamondback+new+10x42 Can't go wrong with Vortex Optics.

Great binocs
Crisp optics centrally, if you've only used wal-mart 7x35 binoculars these will amaze you. Everyone I've handed these to for a quick look at something has looked back at me with awe after a few seconds of use...really impressive brightness and clarity. Very life-like image. However...they're not perfect, but for the price point, I think one should expect this. Negatives: 1).When panning while viewing, there is a very noticeable "fish-bowl" effect, with the edges of the visual field appearing closer than the center. If one is glassing for game over several hours, this would be a nuisance. 2). The edges of the visual field are not as crisp as the center. I realized this was a weakness when comparing to a higher-end set of Leupold binocs, also 10x42. When these Diamondbacks are mounted on a tripod, if you are trying to look for game, your "functional" visual field would be restricted detrimentally(Note: I experimented with vertex distance to see if that would improve the edges of the viewing field--it did not.). But if you are bird-watching, where you're going to be holding the binocs in your hands, if you are scanning for a bird, once you detect it, you can quickly center the animal in the viewing field, so this weakness is not a significant problem in this scenario. 3). Chromatic aberrations. They're there, they're noticeable, but the average user will likely not complain about this. If you enjoy the richness of colors comprising a bird's plumage, this might be little bit of a nuisance. If your viewing is more goal-oriented (spotting game and discerning characteristics thereof) this will probably not bother you. On the whole, these are an excellent set of binoculars for a reasonable cost. I highly recommend them, and have recommended them to friends. Some of these weaknesses do leave me wishing for better, and I'll probably upgrade in the future, but this is a great place to start.

Outstanding product. THESE ARE REAL!
Recently bought a set of Diamondback 10x42 binos to replace a set of 12x50 midline Bushnells that I had grown unhappy with. I am nothing but impressed. The feel of them in the hands just screams quality. The image is crystal clear and light gathering is amazing for the objective size. I was slightly apprehensive about buying a set of compact binos when it comes to light gathering but these are amazing. Plus the warranty is to good to beat. Needless to say I am now a Vortex customer for life. I want a new gun just to justify buying a new scope. EDIT 2-27-17: After seeing people saying these aren't real I checked mine and their box out with Vortex no where to be seen. I sent in photos along with why I was curious and revived a response back within a few hours stating that they are real even with Vortex not printed anywhere on them or the packaging. Don't hesitate to buy these optics.

Highest recommend.
Cold not be happier. Bought along with a pair of Bushnell XLT Bone Collectors and really glad I did. Right away, the Vortex are slightly better in my estimation after a solid hour of side-by-side comparison and are smaller and feel more sturdily built. Optically, I'd give them a 2-3% edge in all-around clarity, light transmission, focus, and control. These will go in my main pack, the others in my truck for everyday on hand availability. Both sport what sound to me like identical warranties which are essentially no questions asked- Vortex is known to lead the industry here, so one can be comfortable putting them to use regularly. I waffled a bit on getting one good set of ED glassed binocs, but kept coming back to having 2 pairs that in my eyes are close enough rivals to ED quality. Being more a weekend warrior and occasional hunter, I could not justify the cost/benefit. Light transmission is excellent, close focus is remarkable at 6 feet, controls are sturdy and hold their place well, focus is smooth. No aberrations yet detected out to 1/2 mile view. I do recommend the Vortex harness as an enhancement to carry. The hand feel is very comfortable, though larger hands may not agree- as with any optic in this size/design. **Low light- at more than 30 minutes after dusk, the clarity and ability to see was remarkable as well. At 100 yds. was clearly able to make out objects the naked eye could not see, lines were sharp, colors identifiable. ***After more use, I am picking up some chromatic aberration- in this case a steel pole against a cloudy sky and found a faint blue line on one side, red on the other. Still, the clarity was on, not going to let it change my rating, it was minor. I'm more than pleased with this purchase and extend the highest recommendation I can extend for a price/performance balanced optic.

Great Value and Quality Optics
I bought these to use for deer hunting in the fall. I live in Los Angeles so I really cannot vouch for them as far as hunting, but checking out the girls jogging down my street, they really work well. I can check them out form at least four blocks away and they never suspect a thing. There were some girls that I thought looked pretty good form far away, but when I looked at them through these binoculars, I was like...."Whoah....she looked better from far away!" Anyway, I will try to update when I actually use them for what I purchased them for...hunting. U[date 11/24/19- Used them for intended purpose...the worked great and really helped in low light (before sunrise and after sunset) situations.

Crystal clear, incredible value.
I had a pair of Steiners that I thought were the best, but these are even better. Great quality, feel good in your hands and absolutely crystal clear, even in low light. Bought to be used on Safari in Botswana - helped us to spot some amazing animals. Everyone in our group was fighting over them and two of my friends have already ordered their own pairs. Great product, and the lifetime warranty means these are just ridiculous value. Couldn't recommend more.

Quality and clarity !!
Wow, after trying many different binoculars and returning them with great disappointment I went to the local outdoor sportsman store. The first thing the guy behind counter reached for, after I explained that I was wanting a good quality smaller size binoculars was the Vortex Diamondbacks. The quality and clarity was fantastic. I have a bigger set from another manufacturer and these were better. The warranty is amazing. The local sportsman store would not match the Amazon price, I saved $70 Cdn on using Amazon. This is something I would and will recommend to anyone.
