Works way better than normal banana clips, and looks better, too. Regular banana clips tend to look really cheap to me. I got the general black one and then came back to buy the spiky one. It's a fast way for my hair to look put together but not overly done.

Strong and durable, and great concept.I especially like the way it pulls back hair but keeps it close to the neck, versus an elastic that bunches all the hair in one place that creates the strong lines of a ponytail.My hair is long and straight, but shaved at the sides: a long-haired mohawk, basically: I look pretty "normal" with hair down, but hair tied up looks pretty aggressive. I use this comb if I need hair out of the way, but with a much softer look than a ponytail or braids will allow.Since I only have about a third of hair grown out, got a medium. Perfect size.Its a strong hold, but won't endure an athletic situation. Like most combs/clips its a bit harder to stash away when you're on-the-go.The things I don't like about it is just personal preference: The shininess of the (black) string wrapping bothers me. I also dislike the shiny black bead. I got the color I thought would blend best against my dark hair, but those two things really make it stand out. It also gives this comb insect-like qualities. Brr.I do still wear it, but not as often as I'd like. If a less reflective version with matte-finish comes out, I'd definitely get one :D

I've used a lot of the old, plastic banana clips for hair. This clip superceded my expectations for a banana clip. Looks cute, very sturdy, and easy to use. Held my hair in place without moving or sliding down my head (like the plastic ones do). I bought the large. I plan on buying the small one next. Love it!

Have only tried using this twice. Will need practice.
