Charmed Life

I bought this book after hearing that it was an inspiration for Cressida Cowell. I've got it for my 9yr old but thought I'd try it first. Very readable and interesting. It showed where JK Rowling (there's a 'You Know Who' reference) and Philip Pullman (there are alternate worlds) may well have got their themes from. Touch of Neil Gaiman too - he wrote the introduction. Suitable for 8-11 years. Can wait to read the next one!

I own every one of Diana Wynne Jones' books as well as the animation Howl's Moving Castle. She is sadly missed. I decided to get cassettes of her stories as I love listening to stories in my fairly ancient car. I was thrilled to get some of her books on cassettes tape and just wish I could get them all.

A fun, gripping action/adventure about parallel universes, with a gripping story-line. Suited to teens and young adults. Excellent vocabulary!
