I am making an autographed quilt, and there's no need to search any further. This Pentel gel marker is the best of all that I've tested. It writes so smoothly on the fabric, dries quickly, doesn't smear, and did not bleed when washed. It's the only one I need!! Thanks for a great product.

This pen really helped when my grandson’s letter came off his shirt. Several letters,had begun to peel his first time wearing it, because it hadn’t been heat set properly. I could iron those letters back on (with the help of a pressing cloth), but the letter “I” had come off completely. I ordered these pens, hoping I could imitate the other letters on the shirt, and the pen was so smooth and easy to use because they glided over the cotton fabric with no blobbing. The letter I did isn’t perfect but that was on me. Thank you for such a good product. (I plan to heat set that one letter “I” since several customers had suggested to heat set work for backup—when I inquired through Rufus about this product’s durability.)

Easy to apply. Don't need to heat. No other special steps needed to set the dye. Doesn't wash out No see thru. It will be black on many different color fabric. Long lasting - after half of dozen washes. product looks pristine. Ink is very, very black. Works great on very black items. Highly noticeable on almost black items. Requires patience to cover large stains due to fine tip. Should work great for use writing on fabric.

After cleaning my canvas Vans sneakers, I wanted to refresh the black checker pattern that had faded during the wash. I ended up going with this 2 pack of pens after reading the reviews and wasn’t disappointed! The gel ink went on super smooth which made it really easy to be very precise with the lines. The ink itself was a little tacky after application, but once completely dried it felt fine. I’ve worn the shoes a couple times since touching up the pattern, (which only used up 75% of 1 pen), and so far it hasn’t smudged! I have yet to get caught in the rain, so I have no idea if these will bleed, but for now they’ve held up great. I may also use these pens to label my daughter’s daycare clothing and stuffed animals as the ink didn’t bleed through the other side of the fabric. Overall would definitely purchase again.

My son ordered a shirt for vacation, but when he got it, he realized it did not have little eyeballs on the characters like he hoped it had. I was searching through reviews, and these seem to be rated the best for what I needed as I really wanted a fine point. I put some cardboard underneath the shirt and started to try and make the dots in an inconspicuous area. A quick dot was a little bit too light so I needed to learn how long to hold the pen down without it bleeding or getting fuzzy looking. For the most part of it it went very well and I’m really impressed with this. You can see the dots from the inside of the shirt which isn’t a big deal. I need to see if these are going to bleed when we wash this or not because that potentially could ruin the shirt so I am crossing my fingers. I will update my review once it has been laundered a few times and worn a few times to see if the ink holds up.

These pens were perfect. I ordered them for family and friends to sign a cancer patients quilt. There was absolutely no bleeding when writing on the quilt. Excellent product.

In reading about people actually testing various brands of permanent markers and pens for fabric (thank you to every person who has done these tests and shared their results on the internet!!!), this pen was consistently rated as the longest-lasting ink on fabric. I used these pens for signing a quilt as a gift to someone else, so I cannot speak to the longevity of the ink, myself, but I can say that the pens wrote very smoothly on cotton fabric and laid down sufficient ink that even folks with a light hand left legible marks on the fabric. The width is pretty good for having clear lines without needing to go over a trace multiple times. I only wish they made a rainbow of colors that would be equally permanent and long-lasting!

They write on fabric like gliding on ice! Highly recommend these!

Used these for writing an address on a cushion that looks like an air mail letter. I wanted the finished cushion to be machine washable so I wrote the name and address on a plain piece of calico first and put it through a machine wash and tumble dry. Very impressive, no noticeable loss of colour, no bleeding, no faults at all. Very easy to write with onto fabric, crisp clean lines and no bleeding or blobs of ink at all. Very happy with these pens. 10/10.

Bought this because I saw it recommended on a Facebook quilting group for labels and WOW! Incredibly easy to use - writing on fabric feels almost exactly like writing on paper.
