Q: Does it hold a standard size (except for length) pencil? Interested in being able to change up the lead with various H, B, and wash leads.

The pencil used in these holders will be short -- a stub of one of your favorite pencils. Of course this pencil holder is made for a round pencil, but simply wrap the un-sharpened end of your favorite pencil stub, hexagonal or round doesn't matter, with some scotch tape - it doesn't take much - and it will be held just fine. So yes, just about any standard sized hexagonal or round pencil can be fit to this holder. I do it all the time.

Yes. It has s very nice cedar wood pencil. It is a very nice writing lead also
