Strip vinyl coating to use adjustable locking device
First - there is a recent review by Sean indicating the wire rope doesn't fit. It DOES fit if you strip the vinyl coating off. I'll note is the same for most wire rope terminations with vinyl coated wire. Once you strip it off (I used a utility knife and vice grips) you can easily create terminations.Overall really great kit to put up string lights - really is everything you need to put up a set at a really great price point.Noteable:- The 130 pieces are black twist ties not zip ties - I had thought they were zip ties think its reasonably clear if you read more but I missed it when I looked at the picture. In the end think the twist ties work better than the zip ties.Cons:- Lack of instructions (see first item) - think if you're reasonably familiar with wire rope you can fake your way through it but some guidance on what recommended interconnections to use (ie turnbuckle vs carabiner vs hook vs eye strap) - I used mostly turnbuckle to hook but in retrospect turnbuckle to eye strap may have been a marginally better choice.- When you cut wire rope the end will try to fray which the kit didn't provide anything or any instruction on how to deal with that - I used cable end caps from the bike parts bin but think tape works as well

Solid solution, still may need to augment package
My husband and I installed the wires and attached two 48 bulb light strings in about three hours. I did do some planning/layout work in advance. In general the kit is impressive and flexible and saves what is likely several trips to the hardware store. We only augmented the kit with a couple of items for our particular implementation - we wanted a thicker cable with a thicker plastic coating for the part that went around the tree to protect the bark more, supported by a couple larger hooks screws into the tree. Also, while we used the enclosed twist ties to attach each of the lights, I don't know if they will last - they are pretty light duty. We augmented with zip ties and added tape to the cable at the ends/turns to prevent sliding. As mentioned in some other reviews, we struggled getting the clamps on the wires because the holes were too small. Smart hubby used a 7/64ths regular drill bit on the holes and everything was easy after that... Probably a minor risk that the holes are no longer smooth and could cut into the vinyl coating after a while, but since they are clamped down now with the screws think it will be fine. The vinyl coated write cable and other accessories seem to be good quality.

Too hard to lace.
The locking nut's eyelets are too small for the gauge of the wire. It is almost impossible to lace through the wire. It has taken me several minutes just to get through one eyelet. The rest of the equipment looks pretty good. We'll see how it holds up to the weather if I can lace this thing.

Seems More Than Acceptable, But Installation Could Have Been SO Much Easier
I love the end result (though admittedly, my lights have been up for only three days now). The guy wires certainly provide a stronger attachment point for the lights and the hardware provides good anchor points on the house and garage. The mix of hardware was helpful, too, particularly the turnbuckle style hook and screw. That allowed more refined adjustment/tightening.So, why did I give this four stars and not five? Because the hardware that allows the user to create a "loop" at the end of the wire has holes that are BARELY able to allow the wire to pass through. What could have taken me a fraction of the time turned into a laborious, somewhat painful process of trying to thread the coated wire through one hole, pull it far enough through to allow it to double back and go into the second hole and pull THAT through far enough to tighten and clamp it off with the screws on either end of the unit. If the holes had been just a TINY bit larger, the coated wire would have passed through easily AND the screws on the ends would still have created a secure clamp that would have held everything in place. Thank goodness I only had to make two loops.I'm planning to add a little more wire around a covered porch, but I don't look forward to having to tie off the ends of the wire with the included hardware. It didn't have to be such a pain in the neck (and fingers)!

Still recommend, but…
I see alot off reviews saying the wire doesn’t fit into the holes on the adjustable locking screws to create loops at the end of the wire. Unscrew it first so the hole is open before sliding the wire through, it’s easy and works just fine. With that said, I hung lights and used the mechanism to tighten the tension on the wire as it’s intended. The wire slipped through the locking screws, stripped the coating on the wire and fell to the ground breaking bulbs, twice! Sure I made it pretty tight, but that’s what the kit is for.Tomorrow I will put 2 of those locking screw things on each end, to make sure this doesn’t happen again!! It’s a good kit, but if you really want it tight, you need to reinforce the locks that create the loop ends so they don’t slip.I would buy and use this again, but double up the locks if you plan to have tight tension. Extra crimps or double the screw locks. I will now go through the trouble tomorrow so they don’t fall down again, and hold sturdy for the long run.
