Works like a charm to replace my danger pillow.
Wanted to get back into 3DS gaming so I opened my old New Nintendo 3DS XL to replace the SD card and found my original battery had turned into a spicy pillow. Mortified I quickly ordered this as a replacement, and luckily it works like new! I followed the advice of previous reviewers and charged to 100% and drained to 0% a few times, it charges fast and holds charge long enough to get through a few gaming sessions before needing to be recharged.

Works well
I don't have anything to properly test the capacity of the battery, but testing this battery using a battery mark v2 test on the 3ds put the max battery time at 5:37, avg at 3:06, and min at 1:01. The old battery that came with my 3ds (which was unused for years and is in pretty good health although it's still seen a couple years of love) had a max of 4:34, avg of 2:28, and min of 0:47. So I believe this battery being sold is the same capacity and is in good health. The voltage dropped at the same rate as the battery that came with the 3ds, and the heat of both batteries was about the same hovering around 30 or 31°C

Like original battery
This battery has performed like the original battery. I purchased other replacement batteries that barely held a charge. This battery has held up well and has comparable battery life to when my ‘New 3ds’ was new.

Works Well
This was my 2nd attempt to find a compatible battery for my 3DS. This one works well. It doesn't stay charged for as long as the name brand battery, but it stays charged for long enough.

Easy to install
I usually don’t write reviews. But my daughters 3DS xl battery died about a year ago (maybe more). It has been collecting dust in the cabinet, when one day she wanted to fix it. We figured the battery was dead. We ordered the battery and it was very easy to install. After that the 3DS was working perfectly.

Arrived at 0V (useless)
Tried getting this for my "new 3DS XL" as my old battery was bad. The new battery fit well, but the device did not turn on after charging for a significant time. Curious, I pulled out my multimeter and measured the voltage of the contacts of the new battery, which read 0.000 volts. For contrast, measuring my old battery, in as bad of a state it is, I get still get 3.120V. Even though that battery cannot charge beyond a blinking red state and will turn the console off as soon as it is unplugged, at least it has a charge for the console to turn on. The 3DS will not turn on for a battery that low as it effectively senses no battery attached and is unable to charge the battery above 0V.Having 0 volts is not like seeing the 0% battery indicator on your phone. Having a 0% battery indicator on your phone/device should translate to about 2.8~3.0V on the battery. Running it lower than that permanently damages the battery. The damage can be seen with reduced capacity (worse life between charges), lower current output, and much more. The lower from that threshold it gets, the progressively worse the damage becomes. Get too low and the battery will be unable to ever charge again. And what I received was a battery at 0 volts with three significant figures of 0s. The battery is dead.

Revived my 3DS
Worked perfectly! My New Nintendo 3DS XL couldn’t hold a charge at all anymore, so I could only play it plugged in, but now with this new battery, it’s working great and I can finally take it places with me again.

Do as directed
This is a good replacement battery for your N3DSXL; so far I've had no issues and the battery life seems compatible to the original battery. HOWEVER, I would definitely recommend following the manufacturer's instructions and let the battery go from a 100% full to a 100% empty charge at LEAST 3 times to make sure the battery operates at peak performance. After that you should have no issues.
