Are these worth the extra $100 over the 540s if I'm not racing?

If the extra weight isn't an issue then the M540 is supposed to be a great choice. I love my XTR pedals but don't race. I just wanted to get my bike really light.

Has Shimano fixed the seal popping out problem with this new version? I owned multiple pairs of the previous 2 versions and the seals would constant.
