Q: I have almost an entire bottle left. How can I preserve it before it expires at the 90 days after opening date?

Mine has always been good. i usually keep a year. never had trouble.

The answer on the bottle, which is probably due to government regulations and how the product was specifically tested (in my opinion), says it's not recommended at all for kids under 12 so the company will not respond and tell you how much to give of their product for kids younger than 12, and no one else can pull that number out of a hat, either. However, you can look at the ingredients and make your own decision.

Q: Are darkthick lumps that don't dissolved normal?

That is something we have never seen, However it may be that the honey in it crystalized . I you feel ok with that, I would empty it into a pint glass canning jar. Set it in a pan of warm water with a metal canning jar ring under the jar to protect it from excessive heat .Lightly heat it and stir with wooden spoon (as you can leave spoon it in it during the process) . Do not let the cough syrup come to a boil but stir untill crystals are dissolved. Then cool completely. You can then return it to it's container or better yet, leave in glass canning jar. Hopes this helps if you decide to try it. My husband likes this product and has bought several !!!
