NOT what you think.
Initial quality feels great, price a little high but you get what you pay fo right, well not really. Purchased this in April, used maybe three time and a rod guide fell out (tip) see pics there is no damage just no guide. Anyway with this premium rod and price you get to glue a new tip on! Yep that’s right you can glue a new tip on. Maybe I am being privileged but, I will never be happy with this rod with a glued on tip! So I can mail it in approximately $30 at my own cost, wait months and they will fix it, not much of a choice. Well I hate to give the low rating as I have waited a long time to be able to afford ST.Croix rods. If anything changes or this is made right I will come back here and provide an update!!! Fish-ON!!!

This volume is because they are simply good, long lasting graphite rods
About the 11th or 12th St.Croix rod I have bought to date. This volume is because they are simply good, long lasting graphite rods. I have several Triumph's, Mojo's, and now another Premier. This seven footer is an absolute workhorse, I paired it with a Daiwa Zillon TWS with 17 lb fluorocarbon for all purpose. Full-corks are classic and comfortable if you have large hands. Only "drawback" is that you may need to re-seal the cork every few seasons, no big project. There are lighter rods in the same price range, but St. Croix rods are very durable in my experience.

Broke the first day I used it
I had a St Croix rod for 10 years that worked great. So I bought this new St Croix and paid extra to get the USA version. The eye broke off the rod on day 1 and I can't get anyone to address this problem after asking for the last 3 months. I thought I would go "public" and see if that can get things moving.Update: It's now November 2nd and still no reply from the seller or the company. AVOID both!Tom P

review of st croix pc70mf fishing rod
this is a fantastic product after breaking two other light poles on big fish i purchased this pole.using a 2 oz spro bucktail i had great feel of the lure on the bottom while fishing for fluke (summer flounder) off New Jersey in the ocean. I also hooked up with several Blue fish 7-10 lbs and landed same after a 5 minute fight. I also hooked and caught a 35 lb striped bass with this pole. This pole exceeded my expectations. and I have since purchased a second St Croix rod pc70 mhf.the price for these poles was very good.

This rod has a great feel and action.
This rod has a great feel and action. I purchased this at the same time I purchased an over $300 bait casting rod. After using them both extensively, I can tell you that I like this rod better for the slow bottom work of fall bass fishing. I can feel every stone on the bottom with this and can get some great action off of drop lines and Texas rigs. I caught more bass this fall off of this than I have in the last 3 years combined. Well worth the money, Preforms like a rod three times it's cost. I definitely recommend this rod. I can't wait to use it again in the spring.
