Book review:An intriguing tale of self discovery of a 15 year old warrior princess,Scarlett. The story begins with Scarlett being given a protective cover by her mother, Queen Adeline. But sudden violent attack makes her lose her memory and ends up in Callista 's cruel kingdom. Her regular efforts help her to escape Callista and she strives to lead a regular adolescent life but danger lurks in every corner. The only thing she finds about herself is that she cannot withstand injustice and she is skilled with weapons. It is intriguing to read about her inner turmoil of feelings and struggling to unravel her hidden incredible ability. The rollercoaster ride of her discoveries about who she is and her origins make it more gripping. Will she be able to conquer every obstacle in her way?The author has created a fascinating and convoluted world with its own history , culture and rules. The vivid descriptions makes the dialogue delivery more engaging and captivating. The action sequences and war scenes are totally mind blowing.I liked reading this adventurous fantasy book and would recommend this book to all.Happy Reading!

neither good, nor bad.
Scarlett Lost In The Five Lands reminds me of all the strong, fictional female characters from TV that I grew up with, like Xena and Buffy, but mixed with more of the current Marvel/DC superhero action/adventure.I enjoyed getting to travel with Scarlett on her journey of discovery and friendship, and felt like the portrayal of many of the students at her school hit the mail on the head. There was a good amount of action and mystery to keep the reader engaged. With that said, I also felt that while the story was there and the overall plot was well thought out- there were ideas that did not translate well from the authors imagination, onto paper. Things didn’t always flow properly and sometimes seemed confusing.I’d also like to state, that fantasy/sci-fi/superhero aren’t genres I’d typically reach for- and that may be part of the reason this book hit the way it did for me, not good or bad- just kind of meh.* I was asked by the publisher to read and honestly review this book, but no payment was exchanged for my review.
