Pavilion A Place Called Home: Print, colour, pattern

Disapponting
If you are expecting a house full of her famous patterns, forget it. Her house looks like she has decorated it with everything from Anthropologie. This book is 90% photographs and 10% writing. Very disappointing. Very expensive for what it is, even with the generous Amazon discount.

A book to savour
I remember ‘Cath Kidston’ from the unique little shop on Chelsea Green in the ‘90s. As the empire grew, I remained quite fond of the brand, and probably like so many people wondered about the person behind it all. I appreciate Cath Kidston eventually sold the brand, so having a glimpse inside one of her homes, a true Paradise, gives an opportunity to see how much of the commercial style is still with the founder. The answer, I think, is quite a lot. Some of it I love, some of it I don’t feel drawn to, that’s the charm. Since buying this book I’ve enjoyed a few lazy hours absorbing the images and reading the background. It’s a little bit nostalgic, a little bit aspirational, and a little bit of a reminder that this “look” works best blended with your own individuality.

An beautiful book that is both inspiring and practical
A truly stunning book of a gorgeous house. Cath Kidston offers some really innovative tips on home decor. There is so much variety and inspiration on all the pages as well as very practical tips, which can be used by everyone to bring a bit of colour and joy into their homes.

Chick charming and cosy.
So chic, charming and cosy. CK has the most wonderful eye and artistic flair. This book is photographs of her house - and I would like to move in! I bought one copy for myself and enjoyed it so much that I have bought two more as presents.
