Q: Would you recommend these shoes for women whose second toe is longer than her big toe?

I don't think they will fit because of how they are made. Possibly going up a size or two like I do if I want to wear the 5 finger toe socks. In bare feet I don't have a lot of room but you could try going up in size. They are snug but I don't get blisters and having the toes separated made all the difference in relieving pain. They are returnable. I hope this helps.

They are not waterproof but can be worn in the water

42 if you’re going sockless. 43 if you plan on wearing toe socks.

Q: what US size is euro 40?

I would think it would be a US size 8. I know I wear size 9 and normally order a #41. They do have a size guide on their website if that will help you decide which size you need. I dearly live their shoes.
