I have read about many false positives, but has anyone had a problem with false negatives?

Yes! If you test too early or if your cycle is irregular then just because you are negative doesn't mean you aren't pregnant! For example with both my pregnancies I used only this brand but with my daughter I found out at 3w4d and with my son at 4w3d, both required more than one test.
