Q: Would these work for paddleboarding? I try to stay dry when it is cold and these seem like they would be more comfortable than dive gloves.

Well, I use mine for shooting in cold weather. They are very pliable so should work fine for your application. They do tend to run a little small so note that when you order. I ordered the correct size according to their system. They fit my hand fine and fingers fine but that are very difficult to zip up the zippers. I use them unzipped and they work fine.

Q: Do they have a smell?

My college grandson never said they smelled. He loves them.
