Without Warning (Capparelli & Co.) Paperback – September 18, 2018

What a great debut novel! I absolutely loved the chemistry between Chase and Hollis. Their undeniable attraction was evident to everyone around them but they always stayed just friends never wanting to chance losing what they had. The book starts with their first meeting in high school gym class, literally crashing into each other and from there it was instant friendship. The book then jumps ahead to years later, with Hollis reeling from finding her fiancée cheating on her. This opens the door for Chase to be back in her life without Hollis’ jealous Ex getting in the way. The will they/won’t they give into their attraction game was fun and lead to a great build up of their union. I really felt the adoration and love that Chase had for Hollis, remembering everything she loved and making her feel special at every opportunity. This book spends a lot of time building the details of the Capparelli family and the friends that add into the mix. At times the details were a little too much and had me wishing for more of the moments between high school and the present for Chase and Hollis. The side characters buildup was overwhelming as there were a lot of characters to remember, as with any big Italian family, so that took away from the story for me. But overall I really enjoyed reading it and would give it 4.5 Stars!

What a fantastic friends-to-lovers story!This is one of my favorite tropes, but it's also one I'm very careful about because it can be very frustrating. Indeed, there were moments of frustration for me (mostly with Chase) but for the most part I just absolutely adored the sort of effortless transition to lovers. I totally bought into the chemistry between Hollis and Chase, and I found their relationship fun, flirty, and emotionally satisfying.This is a book I dug up from the depths of my TBR and I'm so glad I finally gave it a chance! I'm circling back to the second book now. The writing is relatable and smart and the storytelling was so easy to fall into. I loved this story and can't wait for more!

Without Warning is an AMAZING debut from Dee Lagasse. The minute I heard she was writing a book, I knew I had to read it. And I was not disappointed in the least.Without Warning is the story of two best friends, Hollis Capparelli and Chase Merrimack, and how their separate lives that seem to be falling apart end up falling together.I was hooked from the prologue, where we learn about how they met. Hollis is this sassy, takes no crap from anyone or anything type of chick. She doesn't fawn over boys like most teenage girls. She knows what she wants and who she is.Chase is the new boy in town. Athletic, attractive, AH-MAZING. From the moment their eyes meet, they form an unbreakable bond. Their souls connect, even if they don't realize it yet.Fast forward to fourteen years later, and neither Hollis nor Chase are where they thought they'd be. Hollis who never fawned over boys, is nursing a broken heart. Chase who thought he'd be a professional athlete, is back home picking up the pieces of Hollis's broken heart.There's really not much to say without giving away the story, so I'll just say that it was an incredible ride that Dee took me on. The connection between Hollis and Chase was one that I could truly feel through their actions and their words. There were highs and lows, but in the end, they ended up just where they were meant to be.It's told in dual POV, which is my favorite. I got to know both Hollis and Chase as individuals, as well as who they were when they were together.What I loved most is that side characters didn't feel like side characters. They were just as important as Hollis and Chase, and they all had a huge impact on the story and on H and C.If this is what we get from a debut from Dee Lagasse, I know whatever she writes next is going to be just as phenomenal.

I really enjoyed this book and it had a great story. I liked Hollis and Chase. It was the kind of story where you enjoyed all of the sub characters too and were left hanging wondering what else would happen so I can definitely see this being a good series to read!

Danielle’s debut novel is magic, all of it! The ups, downs, and in-betweens. There is something so special about bonds that form in high school, but especially the friendship between Chase Merrimack and Hollis Capparelli. I love the way they move around each other throughout the book, staying true to who they are, and who they have been throughout their friendship. They both down-to-earth people and have strong personalities that complement each other beautifully.They also have great family members and friends that support them the whole way. Danielle does such an amazing job developing each of these characters that you feel you are part of their circle. Hollis, Chase, and their family and friends are very relatable, which make falling in love with them even easier and so enjoyable. The way she describes everyone makes me feel she’s stepped into my life and is talking about my friends and family.You have quite the debut here, Danielle! It is a beautiful story of friendship and love! I am definitely Team Hollis and Chase all the way!

I enjoyed the details in this book. I felt like I was apart of the big Calparelli family and books that can do that are the good ones. I loved the connection and friendship between Chase and Hollis, I loved their struggles and their history. It did take me back a bit when we learn about Chase's commitment issues, because it hadn't been brought up anywhere else in the book, so in a sense it came without warning-- see what I did there. But other than getting confused by who was who and who was a cousin vs a friend vs a sibling: I loved the book. Great debut and I can't wait for the next Caperelli & Co book.

I read this book because I had knownDanielle Lagasse from another book group. I thought I’d support her. Now it’s all an obsession, I absolutely loved Chase and Hollis, their relationship was great but something was missing.. I didn’t think they would ever find out what everybody else had realised. This was a well written book that had me hooked from the start. Now I have gone over to buy all her books and am just about to start the next one in this series. I love her writing and the twists helped keep me on edge. Well done it’s a great book

Without warning was amazing I loved the book so much! It had my emotions up and down and back & forth t was amazing I couldn’t put it down I have bought the paperback the merch as well as the kindle! It was a fantastic debut novel and I can’t wait for the next book in the series or any book from this author!

I friggen loved Hollis and Chase.This was an epic love story of no matter the timing love can suddenly smack you in the face and say go for it.This friends to lovers romance is a epic story of soul mates. True soul mates.Every page had me craving more and needing more.From the first page Hollis and Chase had me on the end of my seat wanting to see where their story was leading, how it was going to end.It had all the feels and more.For a debut novel this was incredible and I can't wait to read more.Without Warning is one of my top reads for 2018.

I had a bit of trouble getting into the book. I think the prologue confused me. I was happy I stuck with it. I really liked the family and the characters. I'm ready for the next one.
