Is the back of the case silicone? And has anyone experienced the case breaking?

No, the back is hard plastic. I don’t know whether it would break or not, seems very sturdy. But I find it makes fingerprint identity not work very well because the edges are raised and you can’t lay your finger really down on the device.

What is this case made of?

The back is plastic. The cover is like an original iPad cover. Kinda like fake suede is the closest I can say. When you fold the cover all the way open, it does not stick magnetically to the back. You have to hold it.

Just got it! is the case around the camera at the same level? will the camera scratch if i lay the ipad on a flat surface?

Yes, the camera is at the same level. As for you second question, I don't know, because I lay the camera side face up.

Does it interfere with the screen protector?

If the screen protector is not lined up correctly the edge of the case requires a little bit of patience to seat properly over the screen protector. I’ve bought two of these cases along with screen protectors, missed the perfect position by a millimeter or two on both screen protectors, took my time getting the case on and no problem with the protector.
