Imagine Me (Shatter Me: Series One, 6)

While Imagine Me isn’t Ignite me in any fashion (I’ve read Ignite me 5 times alone in itself) I think this book served the series well. I got what I wanted out of the whole series and have reread the last 80 or so pages of this one 3 times cause I enjoyed it enough. I did get all of the last 3 books less than a week ago and quickly read through them and was overall pleased. I read some of partially negative reviews so I didn’t go into this last chunk with high hopes but again, I think they all tied nicely together (given random missing pieces and lack of plot lines here and there.) I agree with another reviewer that it was good they did this from Juliettes view and Kenji’s as Warner might have been too much of the same as Juliettes since they’re always around each other. His love for her is my favorite thing about the series overall and I’ll always remember the line from Ignite Me “It's the kind of kiss that inspires stars to climb into the sky and light up the world…” WOW simply wow. They are honestly my two favorite book characters out there aside from Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice.

This is the last book in Juliette/Ella and Warner’s story, at least the last full novel in the series. There is a novella that comes after this one. I recently learned that a whole new series is set to be released 10 years later, following James. Of course, I’ve already preordered it because I’m a sucker for beautiful books. Honestly, I’m glad to see this series come to an end. While I plan to read the final novella, I believe Mafi should have wrapped things up at the conclusion of the original trilogy. In this book and the second half of the series, I felt that Juliette and Warner regressed; all their character growth seems to have been lost. Warner is not a decent person unless Juliette is around, and it feels like everyone just bends to their will. On the other hand, Kenji really carries this book. The second half of the series should have focused on him, as he has better character development, and his story arcs make much more sense. The ending felt rushed, especially after the six books we spent getting to this point, and it didn’t seem satisfying. Adam and James, important characters in the story, are barely mentioned. That said, Mafi’s writing is beautiful; she is a talented author who paints a wonderful picture. However, I am relieved to be done with these characters.

I’ve absolutely loved this series and have devoured it.. but the ending to this one felt very anticlimactic. Between the back and forth to Oceania, and the Supreme Commanders becoming their own demise, this ending just left me feeling like it needed more. Everything felt rushed in the last few chapters and was a little disappointing. Instead of Juliette fighting Warner after all the supreme commanders killed each other, it felt as though there should have been more action? It was supposed to be a full on war, and all the leaders of the war ended each other then left Juliette to fight the love of her life? What was supposed to happen had she succeeded? I know there’s more books to this world as well as a novella to wrap up the original Shatter me series, and I hope they wrap up everything better, because this book felt very unfulfilling. I love that the series was extended after the original trilogy, it just felt like this one was missing something.

Amazing book

This is the last book of the Shetter me series, not taking into account the short stories. It was a nice resolution for the series if you have been following the journey of "Juliette". I thought it was a nice ending it was exciting and you get to fall in love with all the characters and get to realize I come they have come from the first book. By the end of it the story felt a bit to YA and just too much, but you get hooked on the characters and their development. Of course if you are a Kenji and Warner fan this book just make you love them even more. The cover of the entire series is so beautiful, but I do recommend the paper back better

This series was so ridiculously beautiful and heartbreaking. I swear some of this was written like poetry. This quickly became one of my favorite series. I cannot recommend this enough. The twists and turns.. the unpredictability.. I am so blown away by the series.

**spoiler alert** -3.5, but I rounded to 4 stars as the series as a whole was fantastic- This is the story we needed but not the story we wanted. "How did I forget what had happened just hours earlier? How did I forget the moment he asked me to marry him? It was a glitch. It felt like a glitch. Where there was once a memory was suddenly a vacancy, a cavity held empty only until nudged into realignment." Juliette is losing her grasp on reality as Emmaline enters her mind. She finds it hard to distinguish what is real and what is imagined. Seeing as her mind has been erased and reprogrammed numerous times, it's not hard to believe. I nearly threw my kindle against a wall a few times. Warner and Ella are engaged; it is only what I have been waiting for since "Destroy Me," and it is brushed over. Then the questions followed. How did Ella get kidnapped? Didn't Warner hide her? Clones? Anderson and Juliette!? It made zero sense. The plot drags on for what seems like years. When we finally get to the climax, it ends so quickly and abruptly that it felt unfinished. Warner holds Ella/Juliette, and she miraculously recovers? Adam is somehow still "alive?" Nazerra is a super hacker? It was all just so rushed to get to the "happy ending," but even that felt rushed. If it were not for Kenji and how involved I became with these characters, I would have stopped reading. I think Tahereh is a brilliant writer, and I loved all of the books prior, but this felt rushed. Overall, the series is a 5/5. Unfortunately, this was just not the ending I felt the characters deserved. Thank you, Tahereh, for taking us on quite a ride!

This series is a favorite among the teens and goes non stop. They have several editions and my daughter is in full reading spree. She is already fast but with this book even faster.

I didn't like the ending :(
