Will the Fleck 9100 sxt twin work as a backwash iron filter?

No, not in most cases, it can only be set as a softener valve and most likely cannot provide enough flow rate for the backwash needed on most iron filter media. If your iron is not too high, you can use this on a dual tank iron pro system using fine mesh softening resin

I have a 9000 Fleck that a small piece of plastic broke from the main housing that holds one of the gears. Will the 9100 SXT replace the 9000?

Yes, they use the same tank connections and same bypass valve connections. There may be some difference on the pipe connections between the tanks, but it should work fine from what I have seen on those. Worse case, you can replace the parts between the tank for $38.00 if needed by calling us.

what size injector and BLFC does this come with?

You stated that using an old stainless bypass is not acceptable, is a new stainless bypass alright, or do I need to purchase a plastic one?

The bypass valves typically used have a rubber diaphragm that breaks down over time. Either use a new one when replacing the control valve or better yet use the old fashioned 3 valve arrangement (I use ball valves) and the problem of rubber breaking down and contaminating your system goes away.
