This litter box is great! At first I was concerned about the size, it’s a bit small but there have been no issues with that even with multiple cats using it. Because of the design much less litter ends up being tracked out.The round, kidney bean shape prevents the corner clog problem of regular litter boxes. I bought the below scoop on Amazon to make it easier to deal with the curves and it’s a great combo.Catit PIXI Cat Litter Scoop, Grey https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BKTRQLCW?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Love This Litter Box! Bought Two More.
I love this litter box!! We now have three.Pros:-Keeps much more litter in the box and off my floors!!The walkway out of the box with textured floor gets most of what is trapped in my cat's paws. The lid keeps litter from being thrown out. Our Pieviev and Wepet mats catch the rest and I no longer have to spend time trying to sweep litter from the gaps in my hardwood floors!-Cute! I like how this looks and our cats love it. They climbed right in when we unboxed it.-Lid keeps things contained and helps some with odor.- So easy to clean - litter slides right off. No stuck clumps or urine like all our other boxes. I love this!!Cons:-The air filter that came with the box seemed to be scented with something because our cats ate it. 😳I had to throw away the filters - and take the trash out as they tried to retrieve them. I was afraid they would become ill because they would not stop finding bits of the filter and eating them.-Litter does get tracked onto the exit path/ramp. I see this as a pro and con. I want it on that path, not my floor, so that is why I bought this - and it works! But, it is hard to keep litter from accumulating a bit between litter dumping. If we are just sifting, there isn't an easy way to get litter off the ramp. We haven't had any problems with cats using the entry ramp as a litter, though, so I am still very happy with it. We clean our litter several times a week.- The round shape at first was very awkward to try to dump when cleaning (although everything slides clean super easily when dumping). It's not straightforward like a rectangle box, so we place a trash bag around the litter and then dump and it works very well - just took some adjustment and getting used to.- Without the filter (my cats insisted on ingesting), there is some odor that escapes. This might be a positive, so we don't forget to clean it, though.I saw complaints about the lid fit. You do have to be sure it is lined up - and it could be slightly easier, but it's not hard and just takes a couple of extra glances to check it is on correctly after cleaning. We have also had no problems at all with urine spray or leaking from the lid.

Very Little Litter On Floor Now YAAAAY **easy cleaning**
Arrived quicker than expected, so I was able to test it out sooner. Very easy to put it together, but I do wish it lined up perfectly and had a better latch for the filter holder and also one to hold the dome to the base. Other than that, its a very good product. I got it to eliminate my cats problem of kicking out litter onto the floor and from pooping (and the occassional pee) over the side. It is very effective and there is a lot less litter on the floor and no more poop over the edge since there is none. I was worried that it wouldnt be big enough since the picture shows only a kitten in the entry but my heaviest (18lb) cat gets in there just fine. All three of my cats like it, and I let them hang out in it before putting any litter inside to see how they fit and to get comfortable with it...would make a great hideout, too, without litter of course. Maybe a pillow inside and they are happy. I plan on buying another one or two and completely get ride of the box shaped ones. I dont recommend using the filter unless you know it will stay in place, otherwise you will be fishing it out of the litter. The "latch" really is ineffective. I found the filter in my living room so one of them was playing with it which is gross. Also, my cat is a serious nudger with strength so I was worried she would knock the dome top off, but with three very active cats it is still in place. I recommend this product, the filter really doesnt matter (especially if you have a good cat litter and you scoop any messes out often) but it is awesome that they give you one and a bag with twist tie...I am a sucker for extras so these guys rock! I have to also say that my cats seemed to understand that they couldnt make as much of a mess with the dome, so they seemed to put extra effort into kicking the litter out of the regular boxes I have so if you want to cut down on that kind of thing, be sure to replace all of the regular catboxes.*Update* This is super easy to clean, I seen a few other reviewers said it is harder to clean than the box ones, but I have to disagree because the clumped pee just slides ride out with barely any effort. The box ones always have pee stuck on the edges and corners which is much harder to take care of and if not super careful could be flung everywhere. Ordering another one this Thursday to finally get rid of the box ones.People who have no complaints or problems with their old box ones, why on earth would you pay extra money for a more expensive dome one?? If it aint broke, dont fix. For the rest of us who are sick of litter all over the floor or the little "oops" over the side then get this dome and save yourself the dread of cleaning up those messes, you save yourself some time, frustration, and if you are like me a little less gagging is well worth a little extra money. Plus if you came to the same conclusion concerning the filter, leave the filter out and give your cat some extra light.

like the 3 bears, this one is just right for me, it could be the worst for you
My parents have a cat that loves to mark....yay...so I have studied and tried everything close to the solution making a litterbox out of a tub, so that when they mark in it it doesn't enter the seams.Every feauture is perfect for our household with this brand's size, entry shape, and the benifitd of a well designed structure for a household that allows variables like dogs to not go fishing. The cat marks the inside less (probably due to him not being able to easily position for it, but still alliws the cat a comfortable amount of space to go. No more litter into vents because the entry way is prone to absurd spillage. This however can be less great depending on your own variables. I will be honest that while I finally found a perfect fit for me and more specifically my household's set-up it would have obvious flaws in others.Downside's - if you have cats that stalk each other causing litterbox fear based marking then this is the absolute worst purchase to make. It will serve to corner your cat for a smack down if it goes to use the litterbox, no matter your placement. It has one entry way, and lifting the lid off solutuon merely negates every benifit this has so dont waste your money. This can cause a closed in feeling that many cats dislike. Our house needs lided litterboxes, while this is not as easy to clean as an Omega tilt and sift, it is cleaner to your cat, I would still use omega if the one cat that hated it didn't. We have lives and I understand choices. I do prefer the time spent cleaning the litterbox usage rather than the turning our whole house into a litter box cleaning. I also have the smaller basic non-stairway litter circle/box. I keep the lid off because my long haired cat likes to perch up on the strong lip so she doesn't get her hair into it. It is also a great but because it doesn't feel like a bulky litterbox in my room.It is a long journey to find the solution, with many variables not only in the litterbox shape, where you place it, and especially the litter you use. Which amazon now sells a great no odor and no dust on prime shipping now. Despite the weight. If you find yourself in this struggle andare desperate for a solution to have your cat happy over yourself sacrifices to how your places design have to be met to a level we most times don't want. I hate the lid off the litterbox, the litter gets thrown everywhere, but she doesn't pee everywhere win. Catinfo.org is a much more serious lady in terms of care and solutions like the tub I mentioned earlier. Study your cat like you do a dog. Or simply watch "my cat from hell" he knows his stuff.

Best litter box so far.
Backstory: 4 decades of owning cats has led to many, many searches for the best litter boxes. Before this one, I had 3 pans out: a small basic pan for a kitten, a sifting one that used pine pellets, and a very large box with 3 high sides. Unfortunately, I have a digger, and all my cats seem to like to fly out of the pans at full velocity. I seriously think they have a secret contest to see who can scatter the litter the furthest and with pans being near my shower, litter was always in the shower, on the floor, even outside the room. The boyfriend was out of patience and I went searching for low scatter litter boxes. I found this one. It seemed like the right fit but wasn't sure I wanted to spend $70 on yet another type of litter box but I kept going back to it.Finally, one color was reduced to $45 and I finally gave in.REVIEW: I've only been using it a few weeks. It is already worth it just from less b!@#$ ING from my boyfriend about litter on the floor and in the shower. Don't get me wrong, there is still small amounts of litter on my floor but those steps combined with an extra large mat SIGNIFICANTLY reduce the litter tracked out and reduces how far it flies because they can't just take a flying leap.I'm not crazy about the shape. The outside looks so weird but that is not a concern to me. I don't, however, like the kidney shape inside. I think the thought process was no square corners, no stuck poop in the corners but I assure you my cats find a way to get to narrowed edges and with rectangular scoops, it's a bit of an awkward angle to scoop. This is well worth the tradeoff of not having litter in my shower every single day.As you'll read in other reviews, yes it has a large footprint but my previous litter box was oversized too. Yes, it does well containing litter scatter. The lid doesn't snap or lock into place (which could be a potential problem if you have a large dog who is determined to get a snack -- though the design should keep them from casually walking by and grabbing a bite) but for me the lid not having to be locked down just makes it easier for me to remove for cleaning.Summary/TLDR: If you're looking for a litter box to reduce scatter, this is the best I've found so far.

Good but needs improvement - not for kitties that "aim high"
We have a small bathroom and scattered litter is a big pain for us. We switched from a regular covered litter box to the Booda and it is a major improvement! 95% of the litter that would normally be on the floor stays contained on the stairs inside the litter box. Our 2 cats had no problem adapting to the new litter box shape and they actually have more room to move around in there now. I would recommend that all of the stowaway litter should be cleaned off the stairs at least every other day or it will start to build up and end up being tracked anyway. It is a little difficult to pick up the litter out of the crevices of the stairs unless you're using a hand-vac. I chose the Pearl color and it is really lovely. It seems to brighten up the bathroom. The box came with one filter and one plastic liner, neither of which I really needed but they are nice extras. I suppose the filter helps a bit with the smell but I scoop the box regularly anyway so it's not much of a problem for me.Added later: After using this box a few weeks, I would like to add that the plastic liner bag that came with it was more of a pain than a help. It doesn't fit the box very well and our cats would pull the top back when digging and end up peeing over it, trapping the urine underneath the bag. I have since stopped using the liner bags and have been much happier. Also, the box itself is a little difficult to clean because of the crevices on the perimeter of the box. One crevice in particular, which is located near the stairs and is supposed to be a sort of clip to hold the bag liner in position, is a perfect place for urine and litter to get trapped in. Also the outside rim of the entire box serves as a nice little crevice for urine and litter to get trapped in. I use a brush and soap to clean it every two weeks when I dump the litter. I still love the box, but just wanted to comment that these particular design features could use some improving.Final review: Now that I've been using this box for a few months, I have decided to drop my rating from a 4 star to a 3 star. Although this box does help quite a bit with the litter scattering problem, I have found it so difficult to clean that I'm considering going back to a regular covered litter box and just buying a dust buster instead. I want to stress that this box is not a good option for male kitties who like to "aim high", as their urine will get trapped in the seam between the top and bottom halves of the box, creating a difficult mess to clean up. If you fail to clean out all of the urine, you are left with a strong urine odor after a day or so. This box is so awkward to clean, the only way I can thoroughly clean the urine out of the crevices it is to dump out all the litter, scrub the crevices with soap and water and either a good brush or a washcloth. Since my "high aiming" male kitty ends up peeing in the crevices every single day, this has become quite a chore. In conclusion, this box is good at stopping litter from escaping the box, but at a high cost of having to clean out the poorly designed problem areas daily. I would recommend it for female kitties only, and only if you are physically capable of handling the large box on the occasions you would need to clean it.

Manufacturing/Quality Control Disaster - REMEDIED!
SEE EDIT BELOWI've had a Booda Box for nearly a decade and loved it.It was, however time for a refresh that's why you ordered another one. what I received was a disaster.Clearly since I bought my first Booda box, the manufacturer came up with ways - not to make it better - to it's cheaper we're at the bus my cat has enjoyed for for so long date of a thick, sturdy plastic/rubber like material what came out of the came out of the Amazon box this time light and flimsy and barely held its shape - cheap. What's is that worse top doesn't fit the bottom, not by a long shot. The old top matched the bottom and easily locked into place. What I received this time: the top is nearly an inch too wide just snapped into place or cajolled into place. Not only is it floppy to the eye, but it certainly does not seal the litter.I've already box right back into the box it was shipped in I would have attached photographs of this abomination.Because enjoyed our original Booda Box so much I chose to cross my fingers and this monstrosity was a one-of-a-kind disaster and asked Amazon to replace it with the same "item" - I hope that is not literal!I'll update this review if the replacement box has the quality build of the first.(I fear I'll have no need to attract my criticism, as there are several additional points of design/manufacture that seem to have deliberately been changed… for the worse.Be that the case, when a manufacturer brings to market a beautiful designed product but, over time, figures out to make it cheaper regardless of that decision's consequences vis-à-vis the product's quality, that's such a shame!* As I as I said, I will update this review if this replacement resembles the box I've had for so long. if I have to return the second box Amazon sends I'll report that, too.** I did contact the company, about this, as suggested by Amazon in choosing a return method. As far as I am concerned, they scoffed It off and failed to address any of my concerns regarding product design changes."Amazon purchases our product in bulk, resells and ships the product to individual consumers out of their distribution centers. Amazon should have a QC operation in place to ensure that when their shipping to their customers from their warehouse the inspected product will meet the customers’ expectations."And all I wanted to do was refresh a product that has served us so wellUPDATE: Bingo! With few expectations, I ordered a second box – it's awesome. It's as sturdy as it was the first box, and the pearl white color is simply fabulous. I trust the first box that arrived had somehow slipped through QA. No comparison!

So far, SO GREAT!!!
So far, so great! This litter box is pretty big because of the stairs, but I was looking for something that would reduce tracking of litter, keep my dog out (mini schnauzer, his size is about 15 lbs), and keep the cat feces out of sight, and so far this has done all 3. The lid is not connected, and lifts easily for scooping. I've only had it for a couple of days, but I'm thinking this might end up being the best litter box I've ever owned (and I've owned many, including an automatic.) One tip to help reduce tracking; I use the litter with the large crystals (not the tiny ones.) It's called "litter Maid Large Crystal Litter;" it is sold on amazon and also at Walmart for about $9 or $10 for 9 Lbs, and it lasts a pretty good amount of time (depending on how many cats you have using it, of course.). It is not scoopable (the large crystals soak up the urine), but it is the best I've found to minimize tracking, minimize odor, and also it does not stick to the inside of the litter box and make a gummy mess the way scoopable litter does. It is very easy to clean out the litter box with this kind of litter. (Remember that each time you scoop out the solid waste, you will give the litter a quick stir with your scoop, which maximizes freshness and odor control.) Another way to help reduce tracking is of course to have a mat underneath the opening of the litter box. I just use a cheap door mat with a rubber backing. The color Booda Dome I ordered was brushed nickel; it is a shiny dark gray. UPDATE: I've had this litterbox for a month now, and indeed it IS the best litterbox I have ever owned. The only con I've noticed is that it is somewhat difficult to dump the litter due to the size and shape of the box; you will need a medium to large trashcan with a fairly wide opening and you will need to dump the litter at an angle (this is what I have found works best for me.) You will need to sweep the stairs separately. I have not had the experience of urine dripping out of the sides like I've read on some reviews, but then again my cats are girls. My dad came over the other day and mentioned that he could not smell any cat smells and seemed quite impressed with the Booda Dome, even asking if I had shown this litterbox to my mom (she has 2 cats and uses the usual style rectangular catbox with scoopable litter, which makes quite a mess.) OK so anyway, to conclude my updated review, this catbox is awesome, and I highly recommend!!!

Poor quality
Bigger than expected and quite spacious. However, the overall workmanship is rather poor. Sharp plastic edges, leftover pieces of plastic from the mould and the cover doesn't sit properly on the base.

Bueno

Brilliant Litter Box
This litter box is absolutely brilliant. I have 7 cats and tracking litter was a problem, but having researched and read reviews on the American websites, I decided to buy this and was not disappointed. It was delivered much quicker than i expected which was great. It even looks nice (i have the 'pearl' colour). It has cut down massively on tracking litter - most of the litter remains on the steps inside the box. It also cuts down on 'nasty niffs'!! It is easy to clean - the top simply lifts off. It comes with 'litter liners' but I didn't bother with these and have had absolutely no problems whatsoever. The cats seem to prefer it to the other covered litter boxes - i think it is a lot more private for them and they feel secure and safe inside. I ordered the 'large', which was more than adequate for even my 'largest kitty'. I would recommend this to any cat owner without hesitation, and feel it was money worth spent. Thank you CleanStep!!
