Wonderful texture and flavors that make a great addition to yogurt, smoothies, salads, and oatmeal!

Great product.

I tried this product in two ways and it worked well in both:(1) In a smoothie. This is basically dried fruit with a bit of added fiber, but it was very easy to blend with my immersion blender. I think it helped that the apple pieces were quite small. It added a bit of natural sweetness and some fiber, which helped keep me full for longer and helped me get through the morning (I tend to eat a late breakfast, so the smoothie has to fill me up for awhile).(2) As a hot cereal topper. The particular cereal I chose was rather bland and I think it would've been intolerable without *something* on top. The combination of apple and fig flavors helped a lot! It added some much-needed flavor and provided a nice texture contrast as well. (There are some spices in addition to the dried fruit, and they are the perfect sort of spices to go with hot cereal -- cinnamon, cardamom, etc.) And, the small pieces were perfect for spooning up.You can see the full ingredients list and nutrition facts panel if you zoom in on the product images. This particular product is much lower in calories than some of the other super toppers, but it also has a somewhat different makeup, being more fruit-based (as opposed to grains and such). This has quite a lot of sugar, but it is *mostly* natural sugar from the fruit (there is a bit of added honey so this is not a vegan product, though it is vegetarian). I don't worry so much about the sugar here because this is so high in fiber. The added fiber (and you really can't taste it or detect it in the texture) will help your body (and your gut bacteria) deal with the sugars. This is a bit lower in protein and fat than some of the other super toppers, as well. (But, it is nice that you can pick whatever topper suits your macronutrient goals, or mix them together for something more customized.)This is free of dairy, grains (including gluten), and soy, so it is suitable for people with those allergies and/or intolerances. It does contain buckwheat, but buckwheat is not actually a member of the grass (grain) family. It's also free of preservatives and chemical additives, if you are watching out for that. The package is resealable although, due to the lack of preservatives, you shouldn't open it and then keep it for months. It's best to consume within a few weeks of opening.Overall, I'm happy with this. It tastes good and I like the strategy of adding a lot of fiber to help counter the effects of the natural sugars.Product provided by the manufacturer for evaluation purposes.
