Q: What size would I am 40b

I bought these after a breast operation, I am a 36b cup, so I bought the large. If I were you I would but the extra large for your sizing, have to say these bra's are very good and very comfortable.

Q: What size would I need for 42d

There is usually a size chart somewhere. Always how up a size with larger cup sizes. I am a 40 c and got a large. So I imagine xl would fit. With this type of bra they have a lot of give and cup size stretches to fit your breasts. And you can go up and down a size and still fit. I go up a size when not sure as I get more support when not overstretching the bra.

I would recommend you get a M, although if youre buying these to exercise in id look elsewhere, i bought these for running and theyre no good - way too flimsy think tshirt bra with zip front
