Easy to use ingredient in chocolate treats along with cacao powder (which is where the black color comes from) and a bit of coconut oil, and a whole lot of stevia / xylitol mixture to sweeten the bitter but creamy cacao, leaving a refreshing, sub-minty aftertaste. They xylitol is a "sugar alcohol" which is actually good for your teeth as it repels plaque by pH changes on the coated tooth surface. I also use toothpaste and mouth rinse with xylitol, a calorie-free sweetener good for diabetics, as is stevia. Put 5 oz of the cacao butter in a dry plastic tub atop some simmering water until it melts. I add a couple tablespoons of coconut oil for taste and nutritional value. The more coconut oil the softer your resulting chocolate. Don't let it get wet! When melted take the tub off the hot water and add the sweeteners to taste - a lot! Cacao is very bitter but extremely nutritious, properly classed as a "super food" due to the fact it contains the most powerful antioxidant activity known of any food including blueberries, grape seed extract, etc. and will help slow aging if eaten regularly. Add almond slices or other nuts and pour into ice cube trays for freezing. When it's frozen its done and can be kept in freezer or fridge, depending on how hard you want it. One caveat: chocolate contains a lot of magnesium along with its more renowned high iron content. Magnesium is a great mineral but can give those who aren't used to it diarrhea. Caution! Don't overdo it until your tolerance has increased!

I purchased this product specifically for cooking. It is a quality product, and I am very pleased with the purchase. The aroma is lovely, and it tastes great. It was everything I expected, and I would definitely buy from this company again.*Update 12/30/16*I had been buying this regularly up until the past few months when I stopped making the candies I had been making previously. I always use a keto-approved sweetener and make chocolate with this cocoa butter and cocoa powder. I recently began making these again and just ordered a new bag of cocoa butter. And I am very pleasantly surprised to find that the bag now contains little wafers instead of a block of cocoa butter. This will make it much easier for candy making! I have tried a few brands of cocoa butter over the years, and this is my absolute favorite of the brands I've tried. Great aroma, great flavor, great consistency.

This cacao butter is food grade and of excellent quality. It comes in a solid block, so if you plan to use it on skin it might be a bit hard. If it is for cooking/ chocolate making it is perfect, as you would melt it anyway. Overall satisfied with the quality and price

This product smells sooo nice to me . It really smells like chocolate . I bought it to use for food , a moisturizer for my face , as well as in my homemade lotion and body butter . It is a good quality and will last me for a while . Inside the bag there a round shaped pieces . I can melt it just using my hands if I wanted to . I did place the extra in the refrigerator after I opened this product . I also read it helps with stretch marks and scars , but I do not know for sure . It is also organic and gmo free I believe, so that is always a plus to me .

I try to stay on track with low carbing, intermittent fasting and somewhat keto. At night when I am wanting some carbs I reach for a couple of these to keep me in line. Best of all, they taste like creamy chocolate. I also enjoy adding one to my coffee. Yumm!
