VERY NICE BUT---------
I JUST HAD THIS INSTALLED WITH MY APLINE 511 FLOATING RADIO. I WOULD GIVE IT 5 STARS BUT: THE TAPE FOR THE REAR CAMERA IS NO GOOD YOU NEED TO REPLACE WITH GOOD 3M 2SIDED GRAY TAPE. HAVING TROUBLE GETTING THE APP CONNECTED TO THE DASH CAM. THE PICTURE IS GREAT. I ADDED 128 GIG MINI SD CARD. YOU DEFINITELY NEED TO DO THIS. OVERALL A GREAT DASH CAM

Excellent
This is a great unit. Been looking at a Thinkpro for a while now, they are hard to come by. This Alpines cameras were made by Thinkpro. The video is wonderful. I’m very happy with this set up…..except for the tape they give you for the back camera. It just doesn’t stick. A good double sided industrial tape will hold. I did Velcro so the camera won’t hurt the trim if/when I have to remove it for whatever reason. This does have lane departure and beeps when you might be coming to close to the car in front of you. It also has a red light ticket camera warning signal as well.I find the lane departure annoying as you can’t change lanes without it beeping. But I do like the other 2 options. Thankfully I can turn on or off what I want to use or don’t want to use.Bottom line; great set up!

Pretty disappointed with this camera set
I found this dash camera set as a compatible product with my new ILX-F511 mega head unit, so my thinking was that a high end head unit is deserving of a high end integrated dash camera. Both the camera and the head unit have a plethora of ins and outs in regards to cameras..it really wasn't clear if the connection was digital or analog. I installed it today, and it's really lack luster. There is digital control of the dash cam through the head unit, but when you select Dash Cam on the F511, it's like your ported back 20 years because this dash cam is 500 line NTSC analog video. It's really unbelievable. I'll probably run another 1080 or 4K camera in tandem because this one really misses the mark in regards to resolution. Other annoyances is that you cannot flip or rotate the image in the software. Each camera has an UP marked on it and you must adhere to that with your install. Probably an impressive feature set 10 years ago.

Great camera for watching all the crazies out there
Great camera so far. I find the driver assistances features annoying. The system just beeps. The system would be better if there was spoken notifications. I had the impact sensor set on the lowest setting. I lost count of all the 'accidents' that were registered driving out of my neighborhood. The feature would be great if the roads were better. I eventually turned off all of the notifications and everything is good now. I have the system hooked up to the Jeep alpine head unit. Been great addition to my system.

Works great
Works great. I figure for Alpine and the price the picture would have been better quality.

Doesn’t play well with a Maestro for Alpine HU integration
Installed this in our 2006 Tacoma with a INE W987HD head unit, one of the ones that offers full integration with the dash cam. Unfortunately if you are using a Maestro for steering wheel controls, you won’t be able to view the camera feed from the head unit while parked, but it does send over the alerts from the driver assist features. We decided to keep the Maestro since it provides so much additional data like TPMS readings, and we can access the dash camera feed via wireless from a phone. There are other options which are cheaper if you are just looking for a dash camera, but we wanted the integration with the head unit and the addition of the driver assist alerts in our older truck which doesn’t have any of those features. Overall it works well, and has a battery minder if you want to run it in parking mode, which is nice to not need a power magic or other similar device. If you have one of the compatible head units, I do recommend this dash cam.
