Quieter than the Krupps grinder that it replaces on the counter, it's also a little bigger and has a larger hopper for beans.Time will tell whether it'll last the 18 years the Krupps one did, but initial impressions are good.

The only reason for me not giving a 5-star rating is that this is the second grinder I am using and the granulation scale is much different than the old one (same device). The first one just gave up after several years of endless grinding, and it served its purpose extremely well. This new one is doing its job excellent too, but there is a huge difference in coffee granulation when I initially used the same value as the old grinder. Had to reduce the scale almost to a minimum to achieve the same end result.But besides all of that, it is truly a great device, worth the money.

Very happy with this purchase. Machine nicely grinds the coffee beans into whatever level you specify. It took me a couple tries to achieve the sweet spot.

If you expect that the finest level will give you the perfect grade for espresso either pressurized or non pressurized portafilter, that not the suitable grinder.You need to watch a youtube in order to modify it to make it grind more fine, only for pressurized portafilters.

I think that some reviewers have their expectations set to high for coffee grinders in their price range. I'll let you in on a secret. Even the highest-priced coffee grinders will produce 'dust/powder/whatever you want to call it' and if there's a 'quiet' coffee grinder, I've sure never encountered it!This works better than more expensive grinders I've used. If you're looking for something that rivals that of the coffee shop you go to, you're not going to find it in this price range. I've made all kinds of coffee with this and they've turned out great. My husband and I are both very happy with it. I highly recommend it.
