Cooking Directions are a Little Hard to Follow
If you are not familiar with Indian cooking it might be a little hard to follow the directions on the package.Also the directions are listed in grams, annoying to convert.Here are simple directions. ( I substituted Yogurt for Curd, and Garlic and Ginger for ginger garlic paste.)TBS = TablespoonDirections:Saute 1 medium onion (chopped) in oilAdd ½ lb of Chicken or Lamb (Chopped and Sauteed until browned)Add 2 small tomatoes (chopped)Add ½ cup of YogurtAdd 1/4 TBS minced GarlicAdd 1/4 TBS of minced GingerAdd 4 TBS of Aachi Biryani MasalaAdd 1 and a ½ Cups of WaterAdd Salt to tasteAdd Coriander (Chicken) /Mint (Lamb) to tasteBring to a BoilTurn to low, Cover and simmer 10 minutesIn Separate Pot;Bring 1 and ½ cups of Water to a BoilAdd 1 cup of Biryani RiceBoil for 5 minutesDrain Rice with StrainerSpoon Rice on top of Chicken/Lamb MixtureCover and Cook until Rice is done. (About 15 minutes on low)Let Stand 5 minutes.(Optional: Sprinkle with 1/4 cup of chopped Cashews)
